Mastermind Intellect $$$
« on: October 21, 2015, 08:23:47 AM »
I have had the Intellect for a few months now and never had a good series with it. Went from box to 500 Royal Shine and still nothing. Changed the surface to 2000 to try it again on the flatter heavier pattern I see on Monday nights. WOW! This was just the ticket I needed. 214, 223, 213, 650 and won all 4 of the brackets I was in :-) Actually my first 600+ in this league in almost a year. Remember when it doubt change the surface and find what works for you.

I keep my Mastermind at 1000 and the Intellect at 2000 light polish. Great one two punch. My Mastermind is old and has a lots of games on it. Still rolls well but does not hook as much as it use to so it works good on our fresh medium heavy shot. The Intellect is cleaner up front and more angular in the back than the Mastermind.

The Intellect was good for me at box finish, but it was actually a bit too strong on the backend. I don't know if I've ever had a solid that can turn on the back the way that one does. Nevertheless, I took mine to around 1000 abralon, and now it is my oil ball for tourneys. It picks up a lot earlier than it did when polished, and the move on the back, while still plenty strong, is much smoother and goes through the pins better. I think a lot of people missed out on the Intellect. It's a fantastic ball!

I agree Gene. The first night I used it, I won enough with it in brackets to pay for it and some. Of course, I bowled pretty good that rare night. For me, the Intellect has been second best only to the Mastermind in the Mastermind series.

I had a used Mastermind, so I never had a chance to see that ball when it was fresh out of the box. For me, I actually like my Intellect more than my original because the original was a bit more condition-specific. Still, the two made a nice 1-2 punch. As soon as the original began to struggle getting around the corner, the Intellect was the perfect choice.
