Whats up with your last thread? I tried posting a response as per your request but it seems as if you are not allowing posts. Whats going on?

Again, both of these patterns have nothing but dry outside 10 and a bunch of oil in the middle.  While the xmas tree might be SLIGHTLY harder, there is no way you can compare it to the Chameleon pattern.

ALL i used to bowl on was xmas tree, i averaged around 212 on it.  Im honestly unsure WTF my current center is laying down....they change the damn shot every week.   Its amazing, 1 week we have pure flood in the middle, bone dry outside of 8, no blend at all.  The next week we have almost a short oil xmas tree.  Then the next week its almost a THS.

Im actually alright with only averaging 206 on this garbage.

But mav, im sorry dood, a xmas tree(to me) is almost as easy as a THS.  Then again, its what i grew up on, so its natural for me.

I to bowled on a christmas tree for like 4 years 5 nights a week in an old wood house in Athens, Texas. I can assure you, it is not even remotely close to a PBA shot, period. Now the THS I see for the most part in the Dallas Metroplex is slightly easier but please do not try to pass off a Xmas Tree as being closer the Chameleon than a THS because it just isn't reality.

Christmas Tree = Modified THS

It's a easy pattern.  I'm a hack that averages 200 on a Christmas tree but on something flat or a PBA shot let's face it I'm in trouble.

I just checked your link to your season, buddy you bowl in the easiest house in the Albany area and average 205 on the ths, lol. If you bowled in the scratch league you would be last on the average sheet, lol. Boulevard is the highest scoring house in the Albany area. NY guys back me up on this.

normally, i'd agree with you.

things are really tight on a first shift shot at boulevard.

i usually average around 215-220 there, but something is different there in the morning after oiling.

hardly any buffing, and too much over/under, when it gets some carry down, its lights out, but corners lately are killing everyone.

i dunno whats going on with that house this year, but im in a mens league, and no one has shot a 300 yet after 15 weeks, and there are some pretty good bowlers there.

2nd shift shot there is too easy, ill agree with that.

things are starting to loosen up now with the colder/dryer weather here, and my scores are reflecting it, if you look at my weekly averages.

I am not going to take sides in this argument, but I will try to give some facts as I know them. First off Olympic lanes in Menands is a train wreck, the lanes are a mess every night. That house is a bad judge of talent. 197 there is not that bad. However Boulevard is one of the nicest places to bowl. It has full synthetic lanes and the carry is really good.

Mega- do u bowl in any local tournaments here like the huck finn?

From what I've seen with the newer lane machines most houses put out some form of christmas tree pattern ,there is just a variance on how wide and long they are so to compliment the lane surface .Even in the so called wall houses if you look at the pattern loads or distances it will be " christmas tree shaped".

This might be bass-ackwards, but I carried a 221 on a Christmas Tree last season.  This season I am roughly the same in that house, but in another house with a wall shot, extremely over under with no blend, I am at 202.  Much tougher in my opinion than our perfectly blended Christmas Tree synthetic house.
