That's a good business.

A "good" business would also know the following...

- 90% of the experienced bowlers know what they want when they walk in the door. They're not going for the ball that looks good or smells good.
- Those that are looking for the ball that looks or smells good are new bowlers/first time buyers.. You give them what they want and take care of them properly, and they become what's called a "repeat customer". I may not be the smartest guy in the bunch, but repeat customers also will give you recommendations, or "word of mouth" which will bring you more new customers and start the cycle again..

Just in case you were wondering...

That's why the proshop takes time with the customer to explain why the ball is good/bad with other reasons than a color.

When a customer walks into the shop and says he/she wants a specific ball, the first question the operator should be asking is 'Why?'.. and if they can't explain it, then you know it's not for the right reason. And then you go to a ball that might make sense, wether the color is good or bad. Once you go and explain this to the customer on why this ugly ball is good, color/design doesn't matter nearly as much to the person.

That's a good business.

Chris is right about this.  As someone who ran a proshop and still helps out at another, it is the operator's responsibility to let ANY customer know what balls do what.  My explanation is that bowling is about knocking down pins; not looking good to struggle.  If you are looking for a type of reaction, then these are the balls that I have that fill that "look" (on the lane).  A bowling ball can look good.  However, if that good looking ball does not do what the customers want it to do, looking good doesn't mean so much now.  Shelf appeal does have an impact on sales.  But, it is the knowledge of the operator and questioning the customers that will have the most impact on customer base and repeat business.

How do you have time for bowling when you are busy with Unreal and your LABtop lol.  You going to Main Campus next year?  The C team needs a 5th bowler.

Edited on 6/28/2007 1:43 PM

For one I play Counter-Strike.. Unreal is old. Secondly I play it since I make money playing it, since I'm that good, lol. If you could make over $150 a month on a comp game I think you would play it too!

I have one more year in a branch campus and then I go to Main Campus.. and believe me, I won't be in the C team. I talked to the previous coach one year ago and he said I'd be top on B team.. and I bowl alot better now than I did before.. but he's no longer there so who knows.

Thanks for your time.

HAHA I can't believe this loser still comes to this site and tells others to get a life. Get overself tubby. For fu*k sake already, looking through your website, every picture of you has a bowling ball in it and the ones that don't have a computer in it. Not one picture of a friend or even a mention of one. Look at your picture, your one sad (not so)little boy, and the problem is that you truely think your better and smarter then everyone else.

You really should just kill yourself because there is no helping you.

Haha 'Joe Jr'.. Wow your still here? No kiddin. The only reason I even come on here is to sell bowling stuff, if I wasn't I wouldn't even be here.. and you tell me I have no life?

I don't have friends? How would you know.. you don't even know me. I have enough.. don't worry about me.

Wow.. this is why I don't come on here for anything technical.. its a waste of time... just buy my equipment so I don't have to come on here for 3 more months like I did before.

Yep i'm still here, like the hundreds of other regular members, does that mean they have no lives either?  We all can't be professional computer gamers like you. I am worried about you Chris, i'm afraid your going end up on the news as another school shooter.

You continuously come on here and accuse others of having no life but when looking through your personal website I see nothing but bowling balls and computers.

Really you have friends? Like real life friends and not computer friends? Oh and putting a wig on your computer and calling it Jeff doesn't count as a friend.

Lol.. Wow nice imagination.. You play kiddy games with 3 yr olds then bend them over after just to figure out stupid things like that? You know, I'm worried about you. I'm afriad your going to end up in jail for having sex with a 3 yr old.. I'm really worried about you.

If you made a site it would prolly have kiddy porn... so stay away from doing something like that.

I'm really worried about you.. I really am worried.

And back to the topic of this topic.. The Fury Pearl actually looks pretty cool.. The Blast Zone is a very loud color but its going to look amaing going down the lane.. and the Sidewinder is the best looking ball out of them all. SO whoever says they look ugly, you've never seen some of the stuff that companies release! Hah.

-Chris

Wait a minute. What set this whole thing off was this that you said on page 1:

"better question is why is there five posts about color?

Who gives a damn..

-Chris"

And then you just posted that? And don't tell me you said the part about "Who gives a damn about color" just to incite reaction because there is no way I'll give you that much credit.
