Surface Change Vs. Redrill
« on: January 15, 2008, 02:32:38 PM »
I just bought a Twisted Fury.  I'm pretty sure It's layout 3 I have.  (The pin is above my middle finger).  The ball goes wayyyy too long, even on the basic house shot I play on.  Would dulling the ball solve my problems, or would you suggest another drill layout for an earlier roll?  Thanks for all responces,

Zach

i think a surface change would work if you took it down a lot.

Make sure that the ball does not roll out, if it is a short/thin THS. With OOB 4.000 Abralon, the Fury Pearl is quite aggressive and it could be that you move with a sanded surface into the wrong direction.
If the ball brings back oily track rings, I'd try a rougher surface (e. g. 2.000 or 1.000 Abralon) - but keep in mind that the ball might alternatively need polish, if the non-hooking action comes from simple lack of oil.

Anyway, try surface adjustments first, since they make about 70% of the ball's performance and even slight changes can help a lot!
