I am a lucky guy, my Ball-driller and I have the same exact span, fingers, and thumb. I 'borrowed' (or more appropriately took) his Fury last night to league as my Thunderstruck cracked. His Fury was kinda shiny and he asked me to clean it up. I think I got a little carried away and the thing came out like a marble. 1000 grit Abralon+ruffbuff+Bean's sauce = gloss. I used it in league last night on our 38 ft wall and noticed that this ball was ok going up the boards but when I moved in and tried to swing it, it was very squirty and and hit like a turd. Think I had a little too much 'polish?'

On Edit: Last six games with this ball 235-290-243-246-258-235 this ball is a MONSTER on the synthetics. The synthetics in this house are Horrid if you have any hand and this ball just matches up well.

Too much polish. Mine struggled to make the turn when polished. Box is 4000 abralon but I think the ball gets a better reaction at 2000.

Mine wouldn't corner at 800, and was too pushy with High Gloss. I found a happy medium at 600 plus Rough Buff.

what's the problem with going up the boards until the lanes dry out ? the strike potential from this type of line with modern bowling balls is often better than swinging it.

Greg - Nothing wrong with going straight, however as the night wore on and Everyone was playing between 14 and 8 I had to move left and swing it abit. The ideal breakpoint in my home-house is from around 8 at 45-50 ft any further in and you don't carry the ten. I started the night playing a small swing from 10 (splice) to 8 (break point). Going straight up the boards in this house is not an option for me unless I throw urethane or plastic. I had trouble hitting my target as the night went on because it seemed the ball wanted to 'squirt' right

I am trying to figure what to do with my Fury. My driller insisted that he needed to polish it. The only way I can make the ball work is to really soften my hand up. If I use my "regular" release the ball goes forever before trying to turn the corner and if it does who knows what it will do. Staying soft with my hand I don't get that big of a reaction but it is very smooth. I actually spent a full night using it this year. I impressed myself with it by shooting a 729 Wednesday night.

Freakin10pin: It's not a coincidence that Brunswick has discontinued this ball. It appears most bowlers have had little success with it. That's certainly the case for me and those that I know who have had Furys.
For me, in OOB, it skids on heavier oil. At 2000 grit plus, it skates past the breakpoint on my THS. I think I've tried every combination of surface/polish I can think of. I've literally worn out my spinner in attempting to discover the holy grail of Fury reaction.
I've found a sweet spot for the ball at 1000 abralon (no polish). But here, I've turned the Fury into a slightly sub-par skip/flip medium oil THS ball. The Fury doesn't carry quite as well as my other mid-range stuff designed for this condition. I now use it exclusively for practice sessions because I'm guaranteed to leave lots of 7 pins and 10 pins -- makes for good spare shooting repetition.
I have no doubt that you really like the Fury and have done well with it. No matter how much a given ball is disliked by the majority, there are always some who take to it.
May the original Fury rest in piece.

I am totally shocked to hear the complaints about the FURY. Is it the house it's used in? I am always starting league with the FURY then switching to my ANGER. There are always two to five FURYS on our pair. Some are 500 grit and some are polished but there always a few around.
My high with the FURY is a 786. Its also two and a half years old.
WOW!! I love my FURY!! I didn't know they are discontinued I need to find another one before its too late.

Coyote: The Fury was USBC approved in January 2007. You must have an incredible 'in' with Brunswick if you were able to get your hands on one over a year before anyone else.

Sorry I'm having a senior moment. Steven is correct I've only had the FURY for a little over a year. I had a DANGER ZONE PRO-HP I loved until it was gouged and split next to the mid finger. I replaced the DANGER ZONE with the FURY (I still miss my DANGER ZONE, IT WAS MY "IF EVERYTHING ELSE FAILS" SECURITY BLANKET BALL.) I have shot some very nice scores with my FURY.

My cousin uses one and makes it look like a medium heavy oil monster.
I've seen him shoot many a mid 700 with his and it looks great recovering versus other bowlers balls on the same shot!
I am NOT a pure Brunswick rules fan but MAN that ball is good.

Sounds like I made a mistake....if I read this forum....but I don't think so.
I wonder how Bill Orlikowski strikes so much with his in their video.....Brunswick's throwbot!

PS...In looking at this ball...I note that for comparison to other heavy oil balls of the recent past....it has a little less surface(no particle), no mass bias, and a very medium flare potential. As a result I'm probably going to go with about 1/2 inch stronger pin to PAP than other balls intended for this class and I bet...get a great result. Note I see many medium handed people drilling stuff so weak these days even lefties on our wetter side. Recently helped a real good bowler on my side by just putting out a much stronger pin for him....he loves the small swing and area now created.

I just read a lot of reviews HERE on this site on this ball.
In comparison to the Strike Zone which has diff of .048 this has diff of .044.
Strike Zone Mass bias of .017 this one a non bias ball.
I noted in conjunction with most comments above...Most satisfied guys in the 300 rev range had drillings to the right of the ring finger or in the 4 to 4.5 pin to pap range. Most dissatisfied reviewers were in the 5 + pin to pap range and of the same medium rev range.
Are we drilling some balls too weak today.......at least for league puddles?

I Opted to leave this marble as is and bowled a second shift handicapped tourney last Friday night. shot 235-290-243=768 scratch. This house has 10 wood and 30 synthetics and the shot on the synthetics matched up perfectly for this ball as it is.
