Title: Fury, Ultimate Inferno, Total Inferno
Post by: yoshii on June 10, 2008, 06:42:22 AM
Which of the 3 balls have the highest hook potential? i want something to cover a lot of boards. no im not one of those guys that just likes the big hook or thinks a big hook will make me a better bowler. im looking for something on the more oilly side. i currently have a polished twisted fury, and a OOB Ultra Zone. looking to add a heavy oil ball within brunswick. thanks

Ultimate Inferno has been Brunswicks only real heavy oil ball.
The Fury was very condition specific
Total Inferno has rough buff finish, you'd have to take that to atleast 1000, or even 500 abralon + a strong drill to be suited for heavy oil, unless you have a very high rev rate

I used to own an Ultimate Inferno, and I loved mine. It handled oil great, and it was very versatile.

The total has the gription additive. I took the surface down on mine for a very oily shot and it worked great.

Having seen all 3 balls thrown in one house, if I were to get once of these balls, it would be definitely be the Total Inferno, hands down.

You're laboring under a misapprehension left over from the urethane days that the biggest hooking ball handles the most oil. The amount a balls hooks is no longer related to the amount of oil it can handle. These days, it's much more likely that the opposite is true, but there's still little or no connection.

The Ultimate is now sanded to about 1000 grit, but I suspect that the Total Inferno has the grippier coverstock. Sand it to 1000 grit and it will handle a lot of oil, for most people.

i've had all three and the fury can handle the most oil by volume but needs that much oil to work at it's best. visually, the total inferno hooks more than any ball i've ever used.

Strike Zone or a Fury, that's what I would get. I actually just traded for a fury. I can't wait to throw it. Good luck with your choice.
