Anyone Try Drilling their ball Neg?
« on: November 26, 2006, 11:41:37 PM »
I was wondering what does it mean to drill their ball negative? Ive heard it means to put ur weight block in the opposite direction and u get alot more length out of the ball but im not sure and im thinkin of tryin it.
Any idea what the specs would look like?

A negative weighted ball is one that has the side weight on the left side of the ball if you are right handed.  The CG will probably be placed left of the center of your grip.(RH) The reaction would most likely be some longer length with a medium strong reaction that will not over react. I use a power surge with 1/4 oz neg side weight and the ball is very controllable even when the lanes dry out.

For me and NOT everybody.  See my stats. in profile.

A negative side weighted ball will hit well on fresh conditions but during and after transition they leave lots of 10's and back row stuff.

Easy slow move but not the best layout for the majority.

I've had pin negative, cg negative and both negative.  My rec. is don't do both.  As was said, not a large move, but controlled.  I like negative weights when forced to play tight and deep, i.e., around 18 or left without a big swing.
