Title: HARDEST HITTING Straight Ball
Post by: ACDC on February 10, 2007, 01:12:16 PM
Sometimes I do best firing a straightball and using accuracy for strikes instead of throwing a unpredictable hook.

What do you bowling god's think is the hardest hitting straight ball that has very low hook potential that would work for throwing strikes????
I would most likely use it as a spare ball to.

well i suppose if you threw a ball that was matched up perfectly to the volume of oil on the lane

an end over end roll would hit the pins with a lot of force just because it would be driving threw the pins

Yeah the XXXL is your "hardest hitting" spare ball, but why not just throw strait with your regular ball?  You say you score better with accuracy so just pick your spot and dont hook the ball. Should get you the best hit you can acheive.

I believe what you want to hear is this:

The teal/purple/red Target Zone hooks more than the rest.  Because of the additive that gives the teal color, the cover is harder as well, so it hits harder.  Additionally, since it's a three-color ball, it will hook more than the other two-color balls, but since it has purple in it while the other three-color balls don't, it hooks the most.

But that's a bunch of crap.

Practically all plastic balls are three-piece balls with a pancake core.  The only exception is the XXXL.  All of Brunswick's Target Zones and Viz-a-balls are the same, all the White Dots and the Blue Dot are the same, all the Maxims are the same.  The XXXL is the only plastic ball with a real core in it, and will have different reaction and hitting characteristics.

If you don't get the XXXL, it doesn't matter what you get.  Pick the one that looks the best.  That's all there is to it.  The answer you want simply isn't true.
