Activator Solid Vs. +
« on: February 08, 2007, 02:52:46 AM »
I heard Ric mention this awhile back but i was just needing some clarification.  It was said that the pearl Activator+ is stronger than Solid Activator coverstock.  So with this being said, an Abosolute Inferno and an Ultimate inferno with the exact specs and drilling and cover finish, the AI will "outhook" the UI correct?  Same with the Vapor and Strike Zones.  Is this true or did I just misread his statement?

It's a matter of "hook potential" versus "hook in oil". Solid Activator will hold the line better in oilier conditions and move smoother (arc) off the breakpoint. Activator + has an overall higher hook potential because of the stronger backend recovery.

It would depend on the oil pattern.  The ultimate would hook more in heavy oil but the absolute would just skid in the oil.  I had them both at the same time with the same drill pattern.
