inferno layout advice.
« on: July 16, 2003, 09:53:12 PM »
I have a decision to make about how to lay this ball out so I wont overlap other equipment I am fixing to use.I have the inferno, cherry bomb and red fuze.Only the red fuze has been drilled so far.

Red Fuze 3" pin drilled 5-1/2x4 pin above and between fingers cg kicked right.
Gets down the lane with ease with good arc to pocket off of the dry.

I wnat the inferno to arc sooner and have nice continuation through the pocket.
what kind of layout would yall suggest.reverse leverage"thumb leverage".

Then I would like the cherry bomb to fit between the above two.

Both the inferno and cherry have 2-3 pin 3oz top.Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for the advice so far.

Jeff yes I know I have three medium aggressive balls.I already have heavy and dry lane conditons coverd with the deuce and major assault for heavy and pink hammer for dry.The major assault is thumb leverage and I can get 12 flair rings Out of it.The deuce is drilled pin high above the ring with cg stacked below for a bit more length when the assault starts to burn early.this is why I have chosen the three balls I did.

Let me state the reason behind this.house shot "a" severe wet/dry 7-7 35'short oil striped backends, puddle in the middle very hard to controle the reaction with stuff drilled to go long or high r/g stuff. The sooner the ball starts rolling the better, untill you reach roll out.I keep sheen finish on every thing I throw at this house polished stuff is too dam jumpy.Polished ureathane looks like a hook monster when it hits the backends.

House "b" house shot 5-5 40' buffed to 43' nice transition from oil to dry no drastic change like house "a" this will be the house I will mainly use the cherry bomb at this house.I will retire my track emb if the cherry works out here. The fuze is a good third game ball when the heads go away. But I will need the inferno when they adjust the wics in the oil machine it seems to get a pinch slicker when this happens.

As you can see the inferno will likely go with the assault and deuce for house "a" for a bit of early roll. The cherry bomb for house "b" for a bit more length but not to much.

I do appreciat the input guys and hope fuly I can get some more now that I explained my reasoning behind the equipment.

Bob I have read that the inferno likes to arc by nature is this true.If so great ,that is the whole reason why I got it is so I could controle it easier.

my raging red fuze was set up with the pin and cg appx. 4 1/2" from my pap with a big weight hole down below the mid line. the coverstock was left in box condition. on medium conditions this ball covered MANY boards and seemed to have no quit. my inferno has a "positive label shift" with no weight hole necessary. the coverstock is wetsanded 2,000 grit. this ball outhooks the fuze given enough oil. i have no experience with lane #1 equipment except i know they are supplied coverstocks by brunswick.

Thanks fellows for the advice.

Gregg does the inferno read the lane better when you tweak the cover stock.I was thinking about just hitting it with a burgandy scotch brite and leaving it.
It looks like it has alot of polish and I am realy not that familair with how aggressive this ball is.Regardless polished stuff gives me fits in the one house thats why I have all my stuff with a sheen finish.

Bob/yesI have had trouble in the past with flairing over the fingers mostly when I went with low pin placements I have also had trouble flairing over the wieght hole if I dont put it inside of my pap.A combo of higher pins and hand positions have alievieated this problem except when I have to loop the ball and have to change my axis.

i never threw the inferno with a factory finish----i had it wetsanded 2,000 grit from the start as i wanted a medium to medium-wet condition ball.

Mine has a 3" PIN and is drilled 3 1/2 x 3 (Pin beside and just below ring finger and CG kicked out 1/2" further with weight hole 2" below PAP) and it almost breaks too much at times and I didn't do anything to the cover. Left it in box finish. I've had to move in deeper which is a line I have never been able to play before I got this ball. I'm very happy with the ball and its performance.
