Is PK18 really stronger then Activator ?
« on: October 27, 2006, 04:31:12 AM »
I see a few posts where some people say Activator is stonger then PK18, then I see other post where PK18 is stronger the Activator ?

Is the following statement true or false ?:

PK18 is stonger OVERALL, more agressive in oil, earlier breakpoint and Activator gets through the heads better, allowing for more push..More backend (in general.

True or false ?

I still love the pk18 cover.  I recently punched up and old Blueberry saw. I got the chance to throw it side by side with my UI on a 41ft sport pattern.  The blueberry was better, handled the volume of oil better, moved more on the backend.

The UI is drilled 4 by 3-pin above ring, the blueberry is drilled 5 x 3, with the pin on my center of grip and the cg on the midline.  Both were at 800 grit.  The UI was 2-3 boards weaker than the blueberry overall.

Ahh but remember the orginal Fire Quantum was a blend of PK18 and PK17.. not All PK 18 that was seen on the DANGER ZONE, one heck of a ball in its own right.

A chart that a Brunswick rep sent me a long time ago (1998,9?) showed the Fire Quantum as being specifically PK 18 pearl.

FYI it's an Microsoft Excvel spreadsheet of Brunswick & Quantum balls from 1995 - 1997, giving Avg RG, RG Diff, Covertsock name. If anyone wants a copy, send me your email address. I don't have a central place to post it.
