Everyone done that ? Polished a Vapor ? what kind of reaction will you get from it ?

Well, i have a weak drilled Vapor (PSA left of thumb hole, PSA in the middle of my track) and a stronger drilled vapor with the PSA just right of the thumb. The weaker drilled ball hooks earlier and stronger then my stronger drilled vapor. The stronger vapor was 1500 grit polished, this ball gave me a longer skid before it started its turn in the back end.

So id say longer reaction before the ball flips over an OOB vapor.

Thanks IL_Bowler..Think i will just keep it in the OOB condition then..Actually wanted to re-plugg the vapor that is drilled pin over bridge to one that stated for medium to oily lanes in the brunswick drill sheet. As the pin over bridge is not really working for me...

That pin over bridge really depends on where the PSA (that smaller white dot on the ball) is at too. This ball basically has 2 pins on it so to speak. Asymetrical balls are a little tougher to layout for a bowler because it has to be drilled to your game. The pro shop guy has to know your revs, axis tilt, PAP, and ball speed to really pin point how these are supposed to be drilled.

Where is your PSA pin at? left or right of your thumb hole? (also be good to know what hand bowler you are too) If your a right handed bowler and your PSA is LEFT of the thumb, this will create a very weak hooking ball. Keep in mind, once you plug the ball, you will have to relocate your PSA location because the densities of the ball have changed and now have moved your PSA. Plugging the ball will also change the surface of the ball slightly from the OOB finish.

All things to think about. Definately talk to your pro shop operator, if you feel he can not help you then find a good pro shop driller that knows what hes talking about. I am just trying to help you as much as I can with what I know.

I'd be careful with a polished Activator+ coverstock. It becomes very itchy - for some it works, for other completely NOT. I guess that's the reason why any Activator+ ball after the Intense Inferno was OOB in Rough Buff (e. g. AI, SS&A, AF), which smoothes reaction out a bit and still yields good length. Polish can work, but be aware that the ball might become totally spasmic.

IL_Bowler, those points that you have highlighted are exactly what I am concern about. You see this ball was given to me by another left hander bowler and I have already re-plugged it once as our span are different. I followed his last layout so only the thumb was shifted downwards. But it seems that the ball just goes to long for me.
Maybe I will just keep this ball in storage and move on with what I have....thanks

Where is the Pin, CG and PSA on your ball? If you can show a picture, that would be most helpful. I also agree that a polished Vapor Zone becomes unreliable in a way. I have a polished vapor zone but for me it some how works! It is however alot weaker then I expected which turns the ball into my dry lane ball. Works pretty good overall.

Last night I went a shot some games to see what will be in my bag this winter. Started out with my weaker drilled vapor zone then went to the stronger drilled polished rampage. I was able to find the pocket all game long with the OOB Weaker drilled ball. With the Polished vapor zone I had problems with it trying to hook back to the pocket. When it did, it hooked too much. (this would be called Over/Under).

I dont understand why people polish their VZ, from what I see from it its too unpredictable.
