Just an observation
« on: February 06, 2009, 01:38:07 PM »
Go into any of the other forums on this site and ask questions about ball, layout or coverstock prep, and you get answers or opinions regardless of how stupid or meanless the question seems to be.(to anyone except the one asking the question). In this forum you get very few replies except from those who really want to promote Brunswick equipment. It seems most chatter comes between those who already thrown the stuff and their buddies. I know Brunswick can not be the most popluar stuff. But as an example, the pro shop I do business with did not carry much Brunswick stuff. After reading on this site about the Ultimate Inferno(original), I ordered one an took it to leauge. Within the next 4 weeks their must have been 10 - 15 of them out their. This pro shop now carries at least 3-4 brunswick ball at all times. So lets promte the stuff to who ever  ask now matter how lame we think it is. RANT OFF!

you're right, a good watch is a necessity. you're also right in saying that some great bowling balls are made in the usa. however, the best bowling balls are currently being made in mexico.

Just out of curiosity, do you think MoRich has dropped off since their balls have the "Made in Mexico" sticker on them as well?  What gets me, is that ALOT of stuff we see and use everyday are made in other countries.  Quite a bit of the houses we live in are built by Hispanics or other foreign decent.  Does that mean we are going to live out in the streets?  I don't think so.  Where are BMWs primarily assembled?  Spartanburg, SC. Having gone to Mexico is not as big a deal as people make it out to be.

I suppose that would depend if it is the city you live in where the company closes up shop and moves to Mexico. Loss of jobs means loss to tax revenue for the city and surrounding communities due to less money being spent by those who lost their jobs. I would venture to say that recreational activity will be one of the first things those people will cut out Steven. It might be a big deal after all. Just my opinion and outlook on things.

Good point.  I agree with this.  What happens in Atlanta may be way different than what happens in say places like St Louis, Salt Lake, Pittsburgh, etc..

Just my thoughts on where we are headed Steven, but others might call me a hypocrite. This country is going to get real ugly real fast, if we don't watch out for ourselves who will? Take care.

in regards to the "quality control issues": i just received a new rattler and a new wild ride today and gave them a thorough inspection under a very bright light. i didn't notice any of the so-called quality control issues with either of the balls. the rattler was highly polished( as it should be ) and the wild ride had a matte look to it( rough buff ). i still haven't had a mexican made brunswick or morich ball that has had any quality control issues.

the last real problems I saw with Brunswick equipment were . . .red zones that weren't properly sanded before polishing and sidewinders that missed the particle additive. the only other issue I have is delivery times, sometimes I'll get my order within a week other times it's a month or more. . . I'll continue rolling them.

The point of my post was how the Brunswick forum could help the promtion of Brunswick equipment better by answering the questions ask about said equipment like in the other forums no matter how lame they may seem. But it seems to have come to whether one should buy products produced in Mexico or not and if their is a quality issue or not, perceived or reallity. We buy products everyday produced in other countries like China without a second thought. As one who only drives Ford products I respect the stance but was wanting this post to be about how to better serve the questions ask in this forum by those who are wanting to try Brunswick equipment and not about those who dislike it.

Greg,
Thanks, and when I need insight I will ask as I'm am sure that many others do when they have guestions. It is just my observation of this forum that most that goes on here is a battle between bashing Brunswick and defending Brunswick. I can never tell if I am in the Lane1 forum(which I now avoid) or the Brunswick forum. The other ball forums seem to give advice on what ever question with much less bashing although Ebonite is almost there.
