Whats up with these ridiculous prices on these newest made in mexico balls.164.95 for the KingPin and the Quantums are ridiculous too.Have not seen a single new Quantum in my area.Brunswick is like non existence around here.
-
Kingpin is same price as every other hp line ball. I personally like the Brunswick/DV8/Radical balls and i dont see any difference in quality. I've had my Absolute Nirvana for 9-10 months now and im finally at the point where i need to detox it after 100-125 games on it.
-
just wait for it to go on clearance like I do! lol

Yea, the Brunswick/Radical/DV8 stuff goes into a price freefall as soon as it gets discontinued. It makes no sense to pay full price, just wait until the next new one comes out.

On Buddies the Intense and Gauntlet Fury are starting out at $169.95. Jackal Ghost and Trident Quest are $167.95. It's not Brunswick/Mexico inflating prices. Just another "natural" price increase.

Supposedly Quantums are expensive due to being 2 piece. Whole lot of coverstock.
-
Well I don't buy that excuse either. The Hyroads are no filler balls and 113$ and so is the 900 Global Honey Badger 115$.Don't see 60$ worth of difference.

Hy-Roads are good, and their cause is good, but that price is a bit steep for the average Joe.
I wonder if they will wish they had made more than 300 of these. Has anyone here seen anyone with one of these yet?
The Kingpin price looks consistent with other balls on the home page...

I don't exactly buy that excuse either but at least with the Hy-Road that cover stock material is at least a decade old. Probably cheaper to produce I assume. Not sure if the Hy-Road has as much coverstock as the Quantums do either.

I don't think so. I suspect they're high because of the high demand for those balls when they first came out in the late 1990s, early 2000s. They were great balls back then. Now, I'm not so sure. What they did with the 14 lb. core was inexcusable - it was cheap and myopic. For all practical purposes, the 14 lb. Quantums are a completely different ball from the 16s and 15s.(Same is true for the AMF Honey Badger). I so wanted a Fire Quantum but would never buy the new one at any price.
-
Moving to Mexico was supposed to save Brunswick money so they could pass it on to the bowler. I'm sure a rep will chime in soon enough.

You do realize you are comparing different product lines/price points. Hammers urethane no filler options are $126. Clearly more then the Honey Badger and the Hyroad. What's the point?
-
I was actually talking about price of the newer releases from Mexico.Somehow the no filler Quantums was brought up expensive to make.My point on that was it bull cost no more to make. Was comparing price points on other no filler balls.Theres your point!

Just paid top shelf price for a More Cash myself but at least with a Mo Pinel special you know the ball isn't going to be a me too.

I don't mean to Hijack but is the Hy road that everyone loves (not the new one), is it above or below the IQ Tour? My current line up is Hammer Black Widow Gold, timeless, IQ Tour, Code Black. Would it over lap anything or will it fit in my arsenal? I see someone said it cost $113.00. I am tired of paying all this dam money for balls lol, then a new one come out.

Hy-Road (hybrid the original) is longer and weaker than an IQ Tour and it also carries much better on house shot. Its pretty much the ultimate house shot killer and well worth the money for most styles. It can also handle dryer lanes than the IQ Tour. Just glancing at your arsenal you do seem to have quite a few strong pieces so something a little tamer (but not on the hit I can tell you) might be advised.

Hy-Road 112.95 Bowlerx.com.Cheapest price you will find.Great site to deal with .Hy-Road is hard to beat on a houseshot like Hack said.
-
now that the question is about price ck out the Pyramid balls less expensive been using them for almost a year now. shot my highest series ever on a 5 man senior league 798
with the FORCE. Try it you might just score big for less.
-
Pyramid is good but I don't think any of their benchmark balls are in the same league as a Hy-Road on house shot though. Do love my Path Rising though rarely see conditions where I can use it.
-
Path Rising takes cover adjustments very well if you would change it to match the conditionds they become very good balls. I have 1 drilled stacked and one drilled low flair. I play on travel leagues and matching ball surface to the lanes is very important .

Yeah was thinking it was more a tournament ball. See mostly decent house shot on newer synthetic lanes for most part so have other balls that match up better (bit of a ball junkie). There is one house by the university where the college kids beat it to crap which it is perfect for. Like going over there occasionally to throw my weaker stuff.
