Frenzy v Threat
« on: July 25, 2004, 03:54:44 AM »
I'm looking to replace my worn out Low Diff, cutting it down to a choice between a Frenzy and the Threat.
I'm looking for a pearl for good length and something that has reasonable backend.Love to hear from anybody who has thrown both or thoughts on which ball covers the most boards, hitting power, carry etc,or any pearl ball that fits the need for a med/light oil ball.
Thx in advance

I had both. Each of them served a good purpose on med/light conditions. The Frenzy's coverstock tracked up much quicker. The hitting power between each was pretty even...but the Threat did better on carrydown than the Frenzy. I liked each....but in comparison you will get more life and use out of the Threat.

I have owned both balls and have been more impressed with the Frenzy over the Threat.  The Frenzy, as mentioned in an earlier post, does start up a little sooner but the ball is very continuous.  Simply there is no quit in the ball.  My Threat just did not have that driving finish that I was hoping for.  It started a little later, and turned maybe a little sharper but simply did not continue through the pins like the Frenzy.  My choice would be the Frenzy...

But, I also have owned a Zone X Low Diff, which I really love.  The closest thing to giving me the same reaction to it has been a Morich Pioneer with Mo's control drilling.  The Pioneer gave me great length and a very readable break point and excellent carry.  Just thought I would throw in another contender for you to consider.
