Title: Love the Wild Thing
Post by: strikestriketapped on June 08, 2010, 06:18:07 PM: Mine is drilled 5.5" pin to PAP, pin over bridge. 4000 abralon. I like how predictable it is but also has that angular backend. Great ball for when the lanes dry out slightly. How do you all like yours?

Post by: kidlost2000 on June 09, 2010, 03:22:35 AM: Rolls great. Drilled it on a modified version of the rico pattern. My PAP is 5.5" straight across. I moved the pin off my center grip line an inch right(positive) so the Pin is 4.5" from PAP instead of 5.5"

Very clean through the heads gets into a very nice roll with a strong continuous backend reaction. What amazes me about this ball is how versatile it has been. On heavier oil if I slow my speed down it keeps the same reaction. On normal to lighter conditions I can be more aggressive and the ball doesn't over react. The pin carry I get from this ball has been amazing.

Drilled mine just pass the half way point of this past season and it was my go to ball out of the bag every time I bowled.

Post by: directdrill on June 09, 2010, 06:26:02 AM: The Wild Thing is my favorite ball for a THS. Mine is drilled 45* x 4-3/4" x 35*, weight hole at P2 location. I didn't like the reaction with the OOB condition. Changed the surface to Valentino's Resurrection (800 grit) and Valentino's Snake Oil. Ball is angular on the backend, but very controllable. I'll be picking up another one soon to stash away.

It doesnt over hook, doesnt snap just nicely moves and hits the pocket with authority. I've only used it on THS but definitely like it. Plus I got mine for way cheap cuz our center messed up one of my old balls putting a slug in it so they replaced it with this! Definitely reccomend this ball to anyone. Watch for it to start hooking more when the factory finish starts to wear a little though. At least mine did.

When I first got mine I got a little bit of practice in during league warmups and one game of league and I shot poorly with it.

I knew the ball was good but just didn't throw it well. Threw it four days later for singles in city tournament for 742 and it was crazy scores every since. This ball isn't a over powering big hook ball. It is just a very good almost any lane condition scoring machine of a ball.(it does hook though don't get me wrong, just not crazy over powering like some)

Update us on how yours turns out.

Post by: NOTHUMB on June 10, 2010, 12:05:46 PM: I must agree with what everyone is saying about this ball. Very predictable. Shot 845 with it last night (Yea I know, FIGJAM---whatever). Ball is more controllable than anything I have thrown since my Tour Power's a bunch of years ago. Great nut.

Post by: sport300 on June 10, 2010, 03:31:02 PM: i've got a full season on mine & i'll definitley be using it next season. just shot my second 300 with a few days ago. this is a highly undersold ball in my opinion. i also have a second one in the box waiting for holes one day. just wonder why it was discontinued so quickly?

I have both the C-system 2.5 and the Wild Thing. However, the layouts are completely different. My 2.5 is drilled 45* x 4-3/4" x 70*, weight hole at P3, surface at 1000 Abralon. The Wild Thing is drilled 45* x 4-3/4" x 30*, weight hole at P2, and surface is Valentino's Resurrection and Snake Oil. The biggest difference I see between the 2 is the continuation through the pins. The 2.5 rolls through the pin deck and doesn't stop. With the layouts and surface prep that I have on both, the Wild Thing is a nice step down from the 2.5.

Post by: cappy718 on June 17, 2010, 07:01:07 PM: If the 2.5 rolls through the pins better than the WT, I would say that the WT gives pin action to make up for the follow through. I got some crazy garbage strikes with my WT. I still enjoy this ball even when I throw better with other balls.
