RP has a much, much weaker coverstock (my guess: thze same as the Slay/R). So the RP will skid longer and cover less boards and handle oil not very well - it is best suited for very short patterns and scorched conditions, while the GP is a versatile medium condition ball that needs some head oil to be handy. A friend of mine had a RP and used it for 10 pins... it only covered 5 boards or so at all.

FWIW, I just drilled a Green Pin 5 3/4" above by 60 degrees, and a Red Pin 5" above by 60 degrees, and there's about an eight-board difference in overall hook between the two.  The Green Pin is clean in front, but reads the midlane and then goes into a medium arc down the lane.  The Red Pin pretty much ignores the front and most of the midlane, but still makes a decent move in back.
