Made the decision... going to the shop tommorow
« on: December 28, 2006, 01:38:32 PM »
I've decided on 2 balls as of right now based on two conditions.

For the dry-medium oil lanes I choose the radical inferno, this ball looks great and shreds the rack like nothing like i've ever seen before

For the heavy oil ball I choose the absolute inferno, not really sure about this one but from the reviews and after asking around, it seems like a good investment.

If there is anything that I should change before I go out and get these two balls feel free to give me some input.

The radical is a good dry-medium ball correct?  I was thinking about the total inferno there just has not been too many reviews out and I don't know if it was such a good ball yet. I will probably get the total inferno then.

Radical Inferno on Medium/Dry?  Sure, if you like hooking the whole lane...  I would think a Rampage, a Smokin Inferno, or even a Power Groove would handle that better...

Speaking of Radical Inferno, I hope to get mine drilled tomorrow along with my Rampage...

I havent had much sucess with my radical at all.  The angularity on the dry at my house makes the ball uncontrollable for me.

For the dry - I'd go with a BVP series ball.

So far its leaning towards... Total Inferno and Smoking Inferno

Sounds good but I was just not aware that the Smoking Inferno could handle dry lanes as well.  The other day I saw a smoking inferno white pin version, can someone explain that ball to me?

The white pin Smokin Inferno is, from what i understand, just like the Red Pin Zone Classic. Just a blem, with a weaker cover. If im wrong, feel free to correct me. Hope this helps!

I'm not so sure it's a blem, but maybe another form? Because if you look at the Zone Classics, they were put together as one. With the Smokin' and Smokin' White Pin, they are shown as two different balls.

Bowlingball.com is selling the radical for 99.99, I might just pick it up to just try it, its such a good deal to not pass up.  Total is a definite, and just deciding between buying the smokin and taking a gamble with the radical.  The shop charged way too much, 190+ for each ball.

So hard to make a decision these days... the total has been ordered for the oily lane conditions.  For the medium-oily condition I am still deciding.  Thanks for all your help its greatly appreciated.

Ive heard some pretty harsh words about the Radical Inferno... With that being said I dont think id trust the Rad just yet for any 1 lane condition. I have a smokin inferno, its definately not weak enough for dry lanes and its not strong enough for oily lanes. Personally, I have great success on medium/med. light oiled lanes with my BVP Rampage. Just my take.

Right now I have the Scorchin Inferno for my heavy oil ball......Total Inferno to compliment it as ive used 2 different drill layouts on this ball and both look awesome!! Great 1-2 punch for heavier oil patterns. And my medium to medium light shots I have a vapor zone and rampage, the VZ for medium and Rampage for the lighter side of medium. I have most house shot conditions covered with this setup, not quite sure how this arsenal will do on PBA patterns.

Can anyone explain top weight for me because it seems like you can choose between different weights. How does it affect ball performance?
