Title: Making an Arsenal
Post by: jll1024 on August 30, 2005, 07:32:24 AM
I throw a plastic, 14-lb ball.  According to the speed detectors at my bowling alley, I throw it anywhere between 19.7 and 22.1 mph.  I don't know how many rpm I put on the ball, but I can tell you that the ball flares, from the breaking point to the pocket, 7-8 boards.

If I were to make a 3-ball arsenal (not including spare ball), made only of Brunswick balls, for the conditions that follow below, which balls would you recommend?  Please, assume cost isn't a factor.

1) Moderate amount of oil, freshly oiled, typical recreational house conditions.
2) As above, but broken down with oil pushed up the lane.
3) Completely dried out.

Thanks.

My suggestion:

1)Smokin Inferno- will be of more use on the THS for the majority of us. The Absolute is very strong though 19-21 mph would be sufficient to get it down the lane.

2)Rampage- like Sparebowler said.

3)PowerGroove Dry/r

No way i think its perfect. What style bowler are you? Tweener, cranker or stroker.

I'm really not sure.  I've only recently developed a hook and really haven't carefully watched how I throw the ball.

...

Is there a major difference between: the Absolute and Smokin; and the Rampage and Nemesis?

I heard the Zones were very condition specific.  Is this true?

How does the Original Inferno match up against the Rampage or Nemesis?

...

I really appreciate the advice, so far.

Okay...I read the "Rampage/Nemesis" thread, so that question is answered.
