You can find out the difference of each ball by looking at Brunswicks website.

Then you can either watch Brunswicks videos or surf over to Video Ball Reviews or Buddies Pro Shop check each ball out.

The Copperhead is ultra smooth on the lane and will handle more oil. I like mine with some polish for typical house shots.

The Rattler, like most pearls, will clear the heads easily and finish with a hard, predictable move late.

The Python should be even easier to get through the heads and make a more angular turn.

Lane conditions and bowler style will determine which ball is best at any given time.

I have all three, all drilled pretty much identically (pin 5" from PAP above fingers, no balance hole), and all in box finish.

For me, the Copperhead is the earliest of the three, and hooks the most overall.  It's about four-and-two stronger than the Rattler, although its strength is spread across the entire lane.  My Copperhead gives me the smoothest reaction to friction of the three.

I've compared the Rattler and Python in other posts, but in a nutshell, the Rattler is clean through the front but more gradual as it hits the end of the pattern, while the Python is straighter through the midlane but more lateral at the break.  On volume, the Rattler will outhook the Python for me by a few boards, but once the track breaks down, the Python will hook more overall because of how strong it reacts to the friction.

I guess that depends on whether you can wait until November 9.

Too early to tell for certain at this point.

With the information out there on the DB, I'd say that OOB the finer finished surface of the DB (2000 vs. 800) and the slighty higher RG of the DB (2.54 vs 2.49) would lend itself to more angularity than smooth roll.  The big mystery being how solid Activator compares to solid PK18.

I don't think it's the intention of Brunswick to keep the Copperhead in the line up once the Diamond Back is released in November.

My personal opinion regarding the Diamondback vs. Copperhead (obviously prematurely) comes down to the cover.

My Activator cover Ultimate Inferno remake is cleaner through the heads than the PK18 Copperhead, and makes a bigger move late. If that remains consistent then the Diamondback will likely be a winner for me.

I definitely agree with notclay on that.  The diamondback is a clear winner in my opinion. Way better ball than the previous balls in this line in my opinion and I have tried every one of them including Diamondback.
