First take on the Massive Damage
« on: July 14, 2011, 01:48:43 PM »
I'm not a Brunswick staffer just a hardcore fan of the Big-B classics (DZ, Rhino Pros, etc.) who was lucky enough to meet Brunsnick at a pro-am last year and he hooked me up with a Damage.  I consider the Damage to be one of the most under-rated balls to come out in a long time, especially for those of us who bowl in houses that are stingy with the oil.

So when I heard the Massive Damage was coming out I couldn't wait.  Well Brunsnick took care of me again -- thanks brother!  I got the MD punched up with the same standard label drill (pin at 1 o'clock). Nothing fancy for me.  Figured they would be a great 1-2 punch.

I played the first few sets on some beat up lanes that hadn't been oiled since the night before, then they came down and put down fresh oil (THS).

I should say I'm a rev-dominant player with slower speed, so I have no problem making a ball turn the corner. And the Mssive Damage does not disappoint.  As expected, it was stronger than the Damage with an earlier break point, but the same shape and reaction.  Like the Damage, this ball goes long and saves it's energy for the back-end, then makes a very strong move to the pocket.  Carry was great.

I didn't appreciate the Damage until I knocked the polish off of it, then it came alive.  The Massive Damage's OOB finish (500 siaair with rough buff) is just right for me.  Once I got lined up with it I threw 6 in a row.  This ball is smooth, predictable, and powerful.

This will be a great combo for bowlers like me on anything from light to fresh oil.  The Damage was fine playing up the second arrow, but I could move deeper and open up the lane with the Massive, playing the third or fourth arrow.  Throw both of these balls out there and they will come back, just like my Gold Rhino Pro.

For anybody who loves the Damage I recommend this ball.  Thanks Nick!
