target zone
« on: February 25, 2007, 10:58:09 PM »
I'm thinking about purchasing a target zone bowling ball. I got one a few years ago from a teammate on my bowling league. he was a leftie so i had to get it redrilled for me since  i was a rightie. I had some good times with that ball, i  got some many 200 games with it and i will like to relive the experience again. are that good for a bowler that likes to throw hooks?

The Target Zone isn't really a hooking ball.  Any ball will hook if you throw it properly, but the TZ isn't designed to hook.  It would be more accurate to say it's designed to go straight and if you're hooking it, then you're going out of your way to do so.

If you want a decent first hooking ball, look into the Tropical Storm, Crisis Solid, Power Groove, a Planet-line ball from Rotogrip, an Element-line ball from Ebonite, or a Columbia Scout.  They'll cost a little more than the Target Zones, but they're made to hook and they'll give you a lot more hitting power.
