Possible drier lane ball???
« on: April 10, 2004, 10:47:43 PM »
I have a Bruiser and just recently bought a Track Crash.  The Crash makes a much stronger move on the backend and seems to handle heavier/medium oil and carrydown better than the Bruiser but both are too strong for drier conditions.

Note:  The Bruiser has been sanded with Blue Scotchbrite while the Crash is in "out of box" condition.

With that being said...since the Bruiser is the weaker of the two balls, would it be possible to highly polish the Bruiser and turn it into a ball for drier conditions?

That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, that which doesn't make you stronger is a waste of time!

Everone's opinion of dry & wet are so different that it's tough to give a truely accurate answer.

What I can tell you is this, when highly polished, the Bruiser is still relatively mild off of the dry on a lane. Nice clean and consistant arc. However, by nature of it being mostly a solid resin, it does need some head oil to get down the lane.

What I've found is that for drier lanes, the Slay/r is a great compliment to a shined Bruiser. It will get that extra bit down the lane for you.

However, when I hit REALLY dry, even the slay/r is too much ball & I have to look toward pearl urethanes.

Happy easter!
