Intense Inferno
« on: July 03, 2004, 07:16:15 AM »
I am was thinking about the Intense Inferno. First off, I am not a ball of the month club member. However, the Intense intrigues me. If it can really do what they say it can. I have never seen a ball that can handle little head oil and carrydown at the same time. I wonder if it really can. I was thinking of trying on just to find out.

Yes andrew i agree with you. It has my interest as well but i like to actually se people throwin them. Since i can go watch brad angelo, tom baker and various other ELITE pba pros here locally in western new york shouldnt be too difficult to see one of these bad boys thrown!

I am in vegas in possesion of the intense inferno my coworker gave it too me for giving him the day off for making the match play finals this friday. Very nice looking ball looks like a cross between a killer instinct sanded and a fire power from storm. The firepower is very close to the look more the killer instinct sanded is. Specs from box as follows:

coverstock activator +
color: sunfire pearl
hardness 76-78
glow engraving

factory finish
high gloss polish

core dynamics@16 lb
rg max 2.575
rg min 2.529
rg-diff .046

performance
hook potential 120 out of 175
length 115 out of 235
typical breakpoint shape 90 very angular

available weights 12-16 lbs

The intense inferno uses a new medium rg, medium diffeential inferno family core that compliments the activator + coverstocks increased traction creating the most angular inferno to date.

I was wrong saying that eric forkel was using a ball with the original quantum core and now eat crow and correct myself.

Brimar, don't forget...Angelo can make almost any ball look incredible, and he can make it "dance". Witness him take a Power Groove and play straight down the twig, then take the same ball and cap the left gutter while going coast to coast.

I'll grant you that Brad, Bakes, and guys like Heim are VERY valuable resources for ball knowledge, but just by "watching" doesn't give you the full story.

They are fun to watch though, especially ar Transit or Thruway during the summer.

very true, but i am able to get some idea of what the ball is capable of. Ive watched brad at transit destroy the rack with the red inferno. I wish i had half the talent he has but im happy with my game.

I grew up at Rock-Mar watchin Tom Baker, john masiello, Pat Brick, Fran Bax and others. Im no where near there level but i do enjoy trying, And any way i can learn from them i try to.

Do we know yet what Activator+ is?  Peral Reactive or stome kind of Pearl Particle?  This ball is very interesting and I want to know more before purchasing one.

Because they haven't been officially released yet.  My sources tell me that the distributors should have them in about a week or so.

I got one of these balls at the Mini and drilled it 4 x 4 with the pin over the ring finger, no hole. I throw the ball 16 to 17 mph and I had a hard time getting the ball down the lanes ,they were very dry at the Mini. I bowled at the Orleans on the house shot yesterday ,which is very oily and the Intense was not strong enough to carry the ten pins. My conclusion : this ball is good for medium to dry  conditions. So far I am not impressed with way it hits the pins.

I saw all these in action out in Vegas. The Intense Inferno has a stronger midlane read than the Blazing and was much sharper at the break. i think the sleeper will be the Nenmisis this ball look really good in a lot of guys hands.
