Title: Need basic drilling ideas for Scorchin im adding to my SI and OI
Post by: jdhaze on March 26, 2006, 02:10:19 PM
Im trying out a new driller and though Im not looking for an exact layout, I am looking for some general ideas so I can recognise that the ball was drill up to meet my needs.  Im a med rev, med speed tweener with a med-low track.

Right now I have a Smokin I had drilled 2 L right off the sheet, pin above and a little right of ring with the CG stacked.  Love the ball for most house shots and med/dry lanes.

I also have a used OI that is drilled pin right and little below the ring, CG im told is kicked out 45 degrees.

What I would like is a Scorchin to compliment them so it could handle heavier oil and allow me to swing the lanes a bit to play deeper when needed.  I was thinking something along the line of 1 E off the drill sheet would work, but am looking for suggestions.  Also what size pin and what kind of top weight should I ask for?

thanks

JD

My Scorchin' I use for heavy is drilled 3 3/8" stacked leverage, 3" pin, left OOB. It fits in great with the balls you described
