I'm building a Brunswick arsenal....and scoring pretty well doing it.
I'm a medium to medium fast speed, hi-track, lots of axis rotation, not really a cranker but not too far away either...
I have a Raging inferno that is the first ball out of the bag....it is just a terror on the lanes when the oil pattern will support it. It is drilled Label leverage (3.75 X 5).
I also recently bought a frenzy which I threw last night. I shot 216 my first game (9 strikes), playing the out of bounds area for most of the guys, going into the second game the ball started hooking early and I moved in.....but found everyone else's track area and the raging was just too much. I threw the frenzy (drilled 5 X 4.5 pin over ring finger-very mild drilling) and it was a little weak...I struggled thru the second game but by the 3rd game it really started to show itself and I finished with 234.....
I need something inbetween....I'm thinking about an inferno and keeping it fairly polished.....
any thoughts?

I don't know about the hook difference in the inferno line, but like I have said before, I have yet to find a lane condition my Inferno can't handle except for totally burned up and dry as the dessert.

the inferno sounds like the right choice to me. short of the lanes being very oily or very dry it covers a wide range of conditions.

Having thrown just about everything listed EXCEPT the Frenzy, my choice given your specs and why you need the "inbetweener" ball would be the Time Zone. It is a very versatile core with a very tunable cover. You can make it do just about anything you want with the right layout and cover tweeks. You might find the Inferno too strong for the track area and possibly too early for further left if the shot is squirrely. The Time Zone's higher RG and Mass Bias will help it push down the lane - and it ALWAYS recovers, even with some carry down. Smash/R would be tamer (more even reacting) than the TZ, but that cover also tweeks nicely from what I've heard. Inferno drilled weak would be my last choice of the three I listed - not a bad choice - buy I think the TZ would be better.

There's a small world of Brunswick balls that CAN fit between the Raging and the Frenzy, as you've seen from the suggestions so far. I'd even add the Blazing Inferno, although there's a possibility that may be too close to your Frenzy.
If I were you, I'd check out as many of the good reviews here and at other places on the suggested balls: Bruiser, Inferno, Time Zone, and take a closer look at your oil pattern AND which of these ball others in your leagues (or tourneys) are using and which of these bowlers is close to your revs and speed.
It may be that a pearl (Inferno or Blazing Inferno) is more suitable or it may be that a solid (Bruiser or Time Zone) is more suitable.
Your "fast" speed & "lots of axis rotation" suggest Inferno (very low RG ball) or solid (Bruiser).

This place ROCKS!
I love the information background here.....
Good info from everyone......Charlest, I'd check out what others do..but in my league (16 - 5man teams) I'm the only one throwing Brunswick.....It is really fun! I'm averaging about 215 with the Raging and Frenzy..and I've only had the raging a couple weeks....
Most are throwing Storm, and Lane #1....I'm really not impressed by either and I've thrown both including a BCB 'saw...which is for sale....
It has been years since i've been as excited about a ball as I am with the Raging....
I'm going to check out the time zone and the inferno...as good as the Raging is, I feel like I just have to have the inferno...we'll see

i would go with the time zone......... the inferno is a good choice but it hooks more on the backend than your raging would so it may look like it hooks more...... the time zone is a little less than the inferno but it hits just as good
-
wrong or right, I decided to do the inferno.....
I just like the Raging so much, I simply have to try the regular inferno....
I appreciate all the input, and I'll definately let you know what I think in the end....

I think you made the right choice. And if it is a little to aggressive like some people think it is, a little polish goes a long way. lol
