I have a plethora... Funny, the only 2 I've had since the Sarge changeover in October are the Classic #1 and Raging Inferno. 6 months with the same ball?!?!

The old pics sucked, these are a little more clear.

As always... any questions, shoot me a line! I'll be glad to answer the Sarge grip question for the umpteenth time.

What is the vent hole for?

"Maybe those Ebonite balls hit too hard. They're too good" -Jason Couch after leaving a stone 8 pin
"Yeah but the Brunswick ones get all ten though" -Brad Angelo

Vent holes are usually used by people who like to keep their holes tight...it releaves the suction in the hole, making for an cleaner release.
Interesting to see Nick using one on the ring finger though...never seen someone do that before, but it makes sense.

Nick:
See a lot of low pins on some of those set ups, does the Sarge grip mandate that more? I am trying to understand more about the grip and its advantages and disavantages. what effect on revs does it have, and what effect does the low pin and very low weight hole have on these particular balls
In particular classics zone 3 what kind of reaction/condition do you use this ball for?

I'm just addicted to ball roll right now, the combination of the Sarge grip and the Rico1 layout gives me that. I still have to get on the BowlersMAP and see what my rev rate is like, but I'm certain it has dropped, along with my ball speed. The advantages so far have been an easier time reading the lanes when they are tougher. As a result, I've cashed in 4 of the last 6 PBA events which is a big deal to me. I'm competing, and soon enough, I will own my first title.
Disadvantages, none so far. No hand pain and plenty of whistles from the ladies. Chicks dig the dropped ring.

hey nick, i was looking at a previous vid of yours, and i notice that on the pics of the balls in that vid you put CG NOMADDA or something like that. Whats that mean?
And my other question is Why is the grip on ur middle finger pop up from the ball? Is it the vaccu grips, the fact that u got a 1/4 pitch away? or just the way u put the grips in?
Also, why on some of the balls do u put the pin in the middle of ur palm, what reaction you looking for from these?

SeeGee Nomaddah!
CG never matters unless you're opting to change the statics in a way that will require an X Hole to tune the reaction.
The grip sticks out a bit because of the pitch, and because of the vacu install. The backs aren't glued, so when they stretch, they stick up a bit.
The RICO1 (pin in palm) layouts have been discussed, in fact in this very post there is a link to the topic. Check it out, lots of good info. Also, check here... http://www.brunswickinsiders.com/PBATour/PBATournaments/Indianapolis/featuredballindy.htm

The Sarge grip doesn't use standard conventional pitches in the ring finger. I started with 1/8th away and 1/2 right and felt pressure, so I changed it to 1/4 5/8th and that alleviated the strain on the inside of the finger. Also used 1/4 away in the middle finger to take some pressure off the joint where I have had problems in the past cutting my skin.
LaW was the one who put me up to the grip, its been so perfect for the past 6 months!
Rev rate was 525RPMS at one point... so whoever guessed a million was WAAAAY off!

I need to put tape on the ball and get back on the BowlersMAP to find out.
Maybe Sunday night I'll have a chance to do it.

BrunsNick: I read all the post on the Rico Layout. It's very interesting i think. What type of patterns do you recommend it on? When i watched Brad Angelo and Chris Barnes use it on tv on an Inferno it rolls hard in the mid lane then really takes off in the back.
Would this work at the ABC?
