Today, I was in a conference call with Billy O. from Brunswick. During that call, the new ball information was released to all of the Advisory staff. I will only give the names of the upcoming balls. The more specific info including coverstocks, weight blocks, RG values and diffs will be disclosed to you at a later date. I am real excited about the changes discussed and look forward to a banner year going forward.
Ball 1 - Siege
Ball 2 - Wild Thing
Ball 3 - Python
Ball 4 - Avalanche (different color)

If Billy O reads this, when you produce the videos for the new bowling balls, please utilize the above/behind shoulder angle so we can see your approach and delivery.
Thank you.

Siege looks ugly... but let's see how it does on the lanes. Sounds like a strong piece.

Seem to be too strong for the conditions I see. I hardly ever use my Ultimate Inferno (original not remake), which is why I didn’t buy the Maxx Zone, so I doubt I will get the Siege.
Wild Thing looks interesting though, maybe a bit like the Rouge Cell / Break Point. Can't wait to see Billy O's video. Definitely on my long ‘to-buy’ list.
And I’m glad that they are not blue! Too many new blue Brunswicks lately!!!
Also interested in the new Avalanche (if it’s indeed more than a color change)

FINALLY! Info!
The Wild Thing looks like a ball i'll be picking up. I'd drill it identical to my Ride probably.
The Siege looks like a very interesting piece, and when the money comes along, that ball will be in my bag, just with a 6" drilling probably. Haha.

Easy10pins,
We just finished taping the videos for the Python, Wild Thing and Siege and yes we did use the over the shoulder camera angle you suggested. We should have the production videos completed and posted in the next few weeks.
Couple comments -
Everybody has opinions on colors and there isn't a combination out there that will make everyone happy. The only thing that counts is performance unless the color really really stinks like an Orange and Yellow then it doesn't matter!! Ha!
In regards to performance strength of balls, we try to create the widest range of reactions from long to early from slow to fast response in order to create reactions that allow every style of bowler an opportunity to build an arsenal. These options will allow you to create different angles to the pocket to score the best on any lane condition.
We will release more information once all the Brunswick Staff's have been updated first on the new product.

The Orange/Black Inferno is one of the better looking balls. Also the Yellow/Orange Intense Inferno.

I love what Brunswick is doing with the colors of the new balls. Kind of like retro pieces solid with a little swirl.

Coverstock
Introducing Recoilâ„¢ coverstock the next extension in Brunswick coverstock technology. Recoil is a revolutionary coverstock developed by Brunswick to improve the mid-lane and backend traction of the ball on today's slicker oils and lane surfaces. The Recoil coverstock was discovered through testing of new formulation additives and process changes in coverstock manufacturing.
Looks like Brunswick trademarked it. Notice the small "TM" next to Recoil in the coverstock description.

Wow those 2 balls look really crappy looking, like on the outside of the ball, colorwise etc. Usually they have better colors than that, specs look good though.

Cool,
Color does have an affect on being able to read ball reaction. There are some colors that just shouldn't be put together.
There were some Radical Inferno's that had a lot of yellow in them that I couldn't watch go down the lane. The yellow would blend into the lane and I had a hard time really watching how the ball was really reacting.
Same idea with like the green/yellow Hammer Vicious, Storm Yellow Sun Storm, etc. It was just really dificult to read ball reaction with colors so close to the lane surface.

What serious bowler is that concerned about the color of the ball going down the lane? I watch the ball cross the arrows, hit my breakpoint, and see if it continues thru the pins like it should. Color? Really? I mean, really?
Sir, I agree with what you just said.... However in the retail world, color does indeed matter....
Each and everyday I see customers looking at balls on display, and trust me sir, color matters.....
And I'm not talking just about the mr. 180's, I see the Mr. 220's interested in good looking balls also....
There is nothing wrong with a good highend performance ball, looking good...
It's kinda sorta like marrying a women that is a good cook, yet is also good looking.....wait, bad example there, do todays young women cook??? oops

If I remember right was it Brian Voss that liked a solid black ball? Or maybe it was just a solid color I don't recall. Color does have a lot to do with shelf appeal and the way people buy things. To most bowlers color does not mean anything. However to some it can mean more then what the ball is suupose to do. I know a guy that did not want to buy a ball due to the color even though it was exactly what he was looking for. So yeah I guess you can say color does matter.

I agree with jls, it definately plays a big role to some people when buying a ball. I know I wont buy a ball if I hate how it looks, and a lot of times will pick one ball over the other if they are the same specs, because it looks better and I average 220 like he said. Its appealing to a lot of people, of course I do buy a lot of balls, so that might be why also.

Siege looks like a Colossus Pearl in a way
Wild Thing sounds good, I doubt I'd see enough volume to use the siege without polish

Cars used to have limited colors as well.
If you want great product success and sales you need to cover everything.
Some of the most popular selling bowling balls looked good, had a catchy name, and rolled great. That combination leads to big sales numbers instead of good sales numbers. Thats not to say it can't be black or any other color.
Example: One of the most popular selling bowling balls recently was the Black Widow. Not super flashy but had a catchy name and solid performance.
The Siege will hopefully will do the same.
Plus I will be waiting for the pearl version....Under Siege?
