Title: New Brunswick balls on the way
Post by: HamPster on September 10, 2003, 11:29:26 AM
Rick Benoit brought out some test balls to throw a week or two ago.  Although I didn't ever get a chance to ask him what they were, they all looked (just coverstock appearance) like a Raging Red.  Last time he brought out test balls earlier this summer, the Raging Inferno's came out a month or two later.  I'll ask him if I see him Saturday, maybe I can get an early scoop on what Big B is coming out with next.  Probably will be another Inferno.  It's pretty interesting too, the Raging Inferno's were originally going to be a slate gray color, but everybody thought it was too ugly, so they changed the color to purple late in the production stages, lol.

Forget Ron Bahr, I know his hot wife . . and her hot daughter . . . .

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1.  You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2.  The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE.  I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3.  Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.

The new monster that is coming out is a red pearl, called the monster slayr.

Maybe this was the ball that you saw.  It has powerkkoil LS (long Skid)

It is a pearl ball with the same weightblock as the bruiser.  From the brunswick ratings it seems to be quite weak.  Overall hook only 70, which is the same as the power grooves

My sources tell me that the Monster SlayR will have a new coverstock, despite the Pow(e)rKoil name.  Also, the SlayR is intended to be a replacement for the ScreamR, to fill the gap between the Frenzy and the Power Grooves.

The new Monster will take the place on the chart of the Scream/R which should have never left anyways.

Any idea when the SlayR will be released?

I've heard from a very reliable source that it will be out next month.

am i sensing quantum core with the XLR Reactive cover from X Zones??? that would be pretty freakin sweeeeeet!

Quantum core?  Yes.

XLR cover?  No.

My sources tell me that the coverstock on the SlayR is *entirely* new, so much so that they are still in the process of working out the curing issues for this coverstock.  They're looking at a mid-October release.

I also picked up a few mildly interesting rumours, take them for what they're worth:

- There's a Blazing Inferno on the way (at least I *think* that's what it will be called).  All I know is that it is supposed to have a higher RG then the original;  I haven't heard whether it'll have a solid or pearl cover.

- I also heard something about a Warp Zone:  Time Zone core, particle cover.

Anyone out there with more information about these latter two?

If you don't like pearl coverstocks, the Inferno rolls real nice and still HITS with a duller coverstock. I wet sanded mine to 1000, then gave it a couple of minutes on the spinner with the Track Clean 'n dull stuff to take it to around 1500. Acts just like a strong reactive. Fits nicely between my polished Inferno and the Raging Inferno (which I have yet to find enough oil to play on).

Or how about a new ball that ISN'T particle!!!  Geez, now that I suck, it makes everything worse.  I'm sitting here looking at the pro shop wall, and half of the new balls we have in here are new particle balls.  1/4th of what is left are PEARL particles.  And all the rest are resin pearls that hook too much (Power Groove, Scout . . ) and plastic balls that don't quite hook enough.  Bowling sucks, I quit.

Anyone got information about the new Blazing Inferno ? Is it a solid reactive sit between the Inferno and Raging Inferno or a weaker ball than Inferno ??

The Blazing Inferno is probably just a big hooking solid.  Yet another ball I want but would never be able to use.  The Scream/R is too much ball for the conditions I see . .
