Post by: DON DRAPER on May 25, 2008, 03:11:31 AM
i was looking at the list of approved equipment at bowl.com and noticed three brunswick balls approved in may 2008:

copperhead
swarm
sting zone

i've heard about the copperhead and the swarm but what's the story on the sting zone ?

It will be a symmetrical core zone (believe it or not) as I recall, but I don't remember if it's pearl, solid, or whatever. Maybe Rico can enlighten us if he sees this...

On edit, Kenny may be correct, but there is one coming that's symmetrical, I just don't remember the details.

The Sting Zone doesn't show up here:

And thus, the plot thickens...

Watch for the new Furys to be asymmetrical and the new zones to be symmetrical.

The sting zone is a three piece core bowling ball. It is not a new zone. It has a weak reactive cover bowling ball.

Yeah, our shop has had the sting zone in for a few months now.  Reactive cover on what looked like just a plastic ball's core.  I couldn't remember exactly but it did look pretty sweet.  They had two colors for it, one was purple the other i think was burgandy or maroon.
