Strike King vs LT-48
« on: June 02, 2014, 06:52:01 AM »
I'm a no thumber. As u might imagine, I like balls with length and an arcing backend as early and violent hook can b a problem. The specs on these 2 balls are similar. Which one would help me avoid walking around the ball return on a low volume summer house shot? I'm looking for low overall hook potential and a controllable breakpoint shape.
Thanks

Stike King would be my choice. I'd use some 2000 grit to knock the shine off the surface and slow down its reaction to friction.

There are no guarantees depending on the condition and your ball speed that you won't end up by the ball return. Changing your release may be needed on such conditions. Urethane may be another option.

Of the two, I like the LT48 option better.  It's a stronger ball, but because it's a solid and it has a higher diff, it will be smoother downlane.   The Strike King can be really jerky depending upon the pattern because of the lower flare and it's a pearl.

The LT48 has been a success locally with a lot of the low volume shots that's prevalent.

I like my LT when they are hooking. It glides through the fronts and is predictable downlane. Now a strike king with the shine just knocked off will be similar down lane. It will also be a tad weaker too

Thanks.
Thinking strike king at 4000 dull with a weak drill. I welcome any further thoughts.
