Something similar to Alpha-Max...
« on: August 09, 2012, 02:13:40 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Currently bowling in Tokyo and I like the backend reaction I get from the Alpha Max.
But THS patterns in Japan breakdown REAL fast, and I have to put this ball away quickly because it burns up too fast.
Hence the question: May I have some recommendations on something with a backend similar to Alpha-max but with more skid/length so that I can use it longer?

KS

I would have to say try the versa-max. More length and control without having to sacrifice any backend.

I echo the Vesa Max. It will give you more length and still have that predictable move down lane.

I third the versa-max. It will get through the heads and still have energy to carry when getting to the pocket.

Versa Max is my best ball when the heads or mids start to go.

This may be a dumb question, but is the Versa-Max sold in Japan?  Could it go by a different name?

It could be like someone suggesting a Kick Zone to someone in the US.

Good question. However, the author has the Alpha Max, so wherever he bought that should have the Versa Max.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I was also seriously considering the Versa Max but was a little cautious on whether the ball would be as strong as the Alpha on the backend.

Lately, there has been a shipment of 2nd quality(bubbles, scratches) Versas into Japan sold very cheaply, hence I took the plunge and ordered myself one.

Versa is sold here but 1st quality NIB costs around USD200 over here, too expensive...

I actually got my alpha from the US and brought it back to Japan during the rebate period. Price in Japan was ridiculous.
