It looks like a perfect short pattern ball to me. Low rg, low diff stronger solid cover. I'd definitely have use for it.
I'm interested to see how the new Prism Solid compares to the Instigator as I'll need to replace my Absolute Nirvana some time in the coming year

Because there's already more urethane supply then demand. Looks like a webtour/iq tour like ball attempt. Something more bowlers will consider vs urethane.

I guess the problem for me is calling it a PHANTOM when there's zero in common with the originals.
True though, numbers and OOB surface say it's actually their Web Tour version. Rather have the urethane for that wacky pattern of mine tbh

Yes I am afraid the only thing this has in common with the original is the name. Still, I am interested. Is anyone else making a ball with a low RG/low differential?

Brunswick never advertised these as re-releases. The are todays versions of said bowling ball. Trying to re-create that kind of ball reaction at the time of release on todays conditions.
The first ball they did was the LT-48. The ball was rubber.
Dead give away out the gate these weren't going to be the same ball.

Good point. I still carry my Vintage LT-48 and use it as my benchmark. I love it.

Loved all of the Vintage series balls and am excited to see a strong low rg/low diff ball in the lineup again.

Looks like they are just rehashing an old name .... the Vapor Zone and Inferno were true "vintage" re-releases in my opinion. This ball does't have the original assym Phantom core and the original is a urethane ball .... WTF ????

Asym urethane is a tough sell - big expensive cores, a shell that needs to be wiped every shot (to not grease out) and a very early cover that most bowlers will rarely need. The Hot Cell was on sale from my distributor a month after it hit the market and I only recall selling 1 widow urethane in our shop which went to a 2 hand lefty.
I've only thrown 5 games on my Phantom so I am not ready to write a full review, but from what I see it splits the difference between the True Motion + my midrange solids. A slower response cover with a low rg/low diff core should be a more welcome fit in most bowlers' bags. This is Brunswick's IQ/Web Tour.
