Thanks for trying to help but the R&D guys at Brunswick tell me it IS a pearl. The info on their website states this as well.

The Nexus Pearl f (P) is a pearl.

The Nexxus f (P+R) is a solid.

Just to clarify... :)

You will be surprised at how good that ball is. I haven't seen the solid in my leagues yet, but have seen the Nexus Pearl and that ball gets thru the heads, sniffs the try, turns and demolishes the rack like no Brunswick ball I have ever seen. I simply can't explain how hard that ball hits with great pin mix and scouts flying just in case a pin didn't go down which isn't often. Right now I can't buy a new ball, but the Nexus Pearl will definitely be my next one when I do buy one.

I thought the C-System 2.5 was a great ball. Then I was convinced that the C-System ulti-max couldn't be outdone. To those who have thrown these balls......how does the Nexus Pearl stack up ?

For me the Nexus Pearl goes longer, and once it finds friction turns more abruptly than the Ulti-Max.  The Ulti-Max fits between the Nexus solid and the Nexus pearl in my opinion.

I got my Nexus Pearl drilled up today. The ball was drilled( old school layout explanation ) with the pin next to my ring finger. The cg and psa were straight down. There is a hole 1" down from my PAP. The surface was adjusted to 1,000 Siaair pad and highly polished. Can't wait to try it out !

I had a chance to throw a few games with my new Nexus Pearl today. The house I was at had 33 year old wood lanes that were resurfaced last summer. I had whatever oil pattern was leftover from a mixed league on Friday night. I was impressed with the ease at which the ball got through the front part of the lane and was also impressed with the backend reaction. After some more testing this ball may be a great investment !

Good to hear that you like it so far.  The Nexus Pearl is a very versatile ball and is one of my favorite balls right now for house shots or sport shots.  Good luck the rest of the season with the new ball.

Brandon, I'll get a chance to throw the Nexus Pearl on 3 1/2 year old Brunswick Pro Lane synthetics on Wednesday and be able to give you more of a report.

I was able to throw a few more games today with my new Nexus Pearl. The house I was at has 3 1/2 year old Brunswick Pro Lane synthetics and thanks to the manager I had a fresh pair with a typical league shot. Once again I was impressed with the ease the ball got through the heads and a very sharp backend reaction. I was pressed for time and as a result only tried one line with one type of ball roll so more testing is needed but thus far I'm impressed.

I used my Nexus Pearl for the first time in league tonight and was very happy with what I saw. Our Friday night men's league is the largest in town and it's in a house with 3 1/2 year old Brunswick Pro Lanes with a 40' oil pattern that has a slight blend........no real crown to speak of. I used my typical release with 45 degrees of axis rotation and medium speed and played a modest hook swinging 12 to 6. I shot games of 249, 236, and 257 for a 742 series.  We'll see how this works Monday at a different house with freshly resurfaced wood lanes but for now I'm very satisfied with the ease thru the heads and the sharp backend reaction.

Don,
Nice shooting!
I tried mine a few weeks ago on some freshly oiled wood lanes. It still cleared the heads with ease, and then it finished STRONG!  Carry was good, too. Keep us posted.

From what I have seen of this ball so far on Brunswick Synthetic Pro Anvil Lanes, it clears the heads extremely well and seems to reserve all of it's power for the back end. It gives a look far superior of any Brunswick ball I have ever seen. I can't wait to get one, but for the moment that will have to wait until a bit later. I have my eye on the solid also.

I got a chance to throw my Nexus Pearl on freshly resurfaced wood lanes tonight and all I can say is WOW. I wasn't expecting this type of skid/snap reaction but there it was . During shadow balls and the first game it was almost too much.......speed control was vitally important. After that, some carrydown made the balls reaction a little more even......notice I said a "little ". Granted this ball only has 18 games on it and I think the balls reaction will calm down a little with some more games on it.

I shot a 300 game today at our associations Senior Mixed Doubles Tournament with my Brunswick Nexus Pearl. I also had games of 238 and 235 for a 773 series. Had I carried several solid 8's and 9's I would have shot an 800 series. This ball is really something. I'm so glad I got one.
