Not certain How my Smokin is drilled
« on: February 02, 2006, 11:43:19 PM »
Hi folks,

Im new and not that savy on ball layouts, but I aksed my local proshop to drill my Smokin up lable 2L and im trying to confirn she did.  Several people have had some issues and there isnt another proshop I can get to easily to confirm this.  I will do my best to decribe.

Im a med rev med speed bowler, my track is about 2 inches from the middle finger hole and about 1 1/2 inches from the thumb.

The pin is and inch right above the ring finger hole, the Smokin logo is left and slightly below the thumb hole and the "B" logo is a couple inches left and slightly above the middle finger hole.

Was hoping someone could give me an idea how this ball sounds like it is drilled.

thanks for your time

JD

Sounds like label leverage drilling, max length, max backend.

sounds like label leverage

BUT

label leverage is not max length
it might be max length for a leverage drilling, but that pin postion(3 3/8 if leverage) defintely would not make your ball have max length.

JD, You need to specify more where the CG is located & not the logo. On layouts for Smokin, you determine it by Pin & CG.

Thanks for the replies.

Took me a bit to find the CG as its just a pin hole, I was looking for something larger

The CG is aprox 1 1/2 inches right of a line drawn between the fingers and the thumb.

thanks again,

JD

sounds liked the cg is directly below pin. Without knowing exact pap, we are only guessing.

BUT
it sounds like stacked leverage.

best way to find out is to go to the brunswick site and have a look at the drilling specs.  it sounds like a little variation from 2l drilling.

Thanks for the replies.  Being able now to find the CG I think the ball is similar to 2L and acts like it, and im happy with the ball.  The reason I asked is when i got it I also got a Storm Trifecta, that I wanted drilled to roll early and arc.  However they drilled the Trifecta stacked leverage to also go long with a sharp break...  So I wanted to make sure they atleast did the SI the way I asked.  So now I need to decide what to do.

I can polish up the Trifecta and go with the skid/snap and see if its strong enough to handle heavier oil and carry down with the SI cant.

Get the ball plugged and redrilled for what I wanted it for.

Somone offered me a strait up trade for thier Shock and Awe.

Or lastly I can get rid of it and pick up either the Ultimate or Scorchin to compliment the SI.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks again,

JD

SHORT LENGTH, MAX HOOK, EARLY ROLL
