Title: Oh no, what will the neighbors think!
Post by: BrunsNick on March 21, 2006, 06:40:43 PM
So I drilled a Demolition Zone I had in the shop...

Standard fingertip! *gasp*

First time I've thrown a ball with full span and grips since my injury back in Aug 04. Felt a little sore all night, but it didn't stop me from firing a 256, 237 and 257! I was using Turbo Ice Lifts vacu-installed, and they felt greasy after the 3rd game. Definately need to change those to Vise Semi's or non-ice grips.

All in all, felt pretty good. Just a little sore, but I definately see a difference in ball roll.

Time to drill up new stuff again???

Nick,
I tried the Turbo Ice finger inserts awhile back and had the same feel. They are very slick. I just started using some of the Vise Clears and they seem to have more texture.

As someone converting from Contour to Vise, I still need some tackiness like Contours are known for.

Great job. I will PM you for a couple of more shirts in the next day or so.

Haven't found an insert for the ring finger that feels comfortable enough yet. The turbo ice felt slimy, and now I've been playing around with others.

I still feel strain.

Being the macho man that I am, i use lady vise grips for my "vacu" grip.  I've used them since before Vise created their own vacu grip.  The slightly thinner grip allows for a little more expansion/suction on the fingers and feels better than anything else i've tried.  Hard to find sometimes but there are a few online sites that sell them.

I'm not as impressed with the grip change and numbers but what a great ball the Demolition is...was and has been...one of my favorites...and NOBODY is giving them up....once they own em...try to get one from somebody!

Had a friend little hand  lent him mine and it scared him it had so much reaction....left it in his car till it cracked and offered me nothing to replace it...an old friend!

Yep!

Drilled the ladies for vacu (15/16th hole to 7/8th) A powerlift in the middle, and an oval in the right. Pitched 5/8th away in the ring, and 1/4 away in the middle.

Still kind of sore after the 4 games tonight, but I feel like I was able to roll the ball a little cleaner. I really won't know until the morning how my hand feels.

Tragic double-clicking accident while surfing XXX sites...

No really, I hyperextended a joint/tendon in my ring finger during a regional. I was using full-fingertip without any inserts, and I guess it was a little too much for my hand.

No but I will be ordering some... Looks like lady Vise are the best so far!

Right now, I'm up to 3/4 reverse in the ring finger!

This isn't going to work out, my finger is still not 100% and is really sore.

I don't know what else to try, but back to Sarge and the infinite questions that go along with it!

I went to Sarge grip when I fractured my index finger tip.  To put the pressure of the ball in my palm, and not on my index finger.  Been almost a whole season now using the grip.  I tried going back to full finger tip grip, with no luck.  Roll the ball so much better with sarge, seem to have so much more control.  So I am one person that is never going to go back.

BTW  Thanks Nick for your input and some used equipment!

Both roll great. Just need to know when to put them away. PB3 is a little more then the Ambush.  When the lanes start moving, I need to put them away, for something else.  Don't have the speed you do!

Nick,

You don't happen to have another Demolition Zone in 15 lbs. laying around.  My friend has been looking for one for a long while now to replace the one that cracked.

I might sell this one.., but its been plugged once before.

Great rolling ball, but if I convert it to Sarge, then I will be drilling out the pin. Never liked doing that..
