Smokin' Inferno: anyone change the pearl cover?

Wondering if anyone here has expiremented with tuning the pearl cover of this ball.... like taking off the pearl or changing the buff. If so, how did the performance change?

Yeah you can't take the pearl off of a ball, there are polished solids and sanded pearls, but thats just symantics.  I took my Smokin to 2000, and threw it today, what a difference earlier read, but still strong on the back.  Until the lanes dried up and i got some over under it was sending pins.  Usually f you have over under sanding is a good option as it creates an earlier read, so that the ball will read the mids.

Thanks folks... for those who brought it down to 2000, I am assuming that it still works as a medium condition ball.... true?
