Drilling 3rd Absolute... HOW?
« on: February 17, 2005, 08:56:29 AM »
Ok... here are my 2 options.

5" to PAP, pin above the bridge, no x hole, left in box condition.

4" to PAP, pin under ring, x hole in thumb quadrant, polished up.

I've shot big scores with the Original Inferno with pins in lower RG spots, so I'm leaning towards #2.

Nation?

Nah, but I did get some shots with it last night.

It will be a very condition specific ball for me, most likely a Viper or Cheetah pattern.

I'm leaning towards #2 as well, look like I have a 3.5" with 3.7 TW to work with. Gonna have to drill the thumb deep to make it NOT have a crater of an X Hole.

Here is Absolute #1, pin under middle about 5 1/2", no x hole, in box shape.

Here is Absolute #2, pin over bridge about 5", x hole on PAP, shined factory.

You're right, I don't have either.

If you compare the #1 layout with the 5 1/2" with a flare reducing hole, its about 7 boards (with your feet) difference. Flare reducing holes are amazing. Do you have anything with one?

Yep! http://home.earthlink.net/~dcsportlxi/arsenal/inferno.jpg

I don't really need another ball that lays off, I want some balls to the wall fun! My Classic Zone #2 is great for when the lanes break down and I need that few extra feet with a smooth punch in the back.

Laying it out now...

With the sarge ring, the difference between in the center of grip and under the ring is minute.

How far from the center of grip should I put the X Hole since I drew a line thru the pin and cg ?

I'm looking towards replacing a good chunk of my arsenal with these, eliminated one Classic Zone and possibly my Ultimate Inferno.

Slayr and Bruiser are no brainers, not throwing them right now, don't want to get attached since they will be discontinued this year.

Haven't had a chance to work it out, but needed a 1 1/16th to get rid of the side weight. Yikes.

I'll throw it tonight or tomorrow.

Tried it out on the fresh shot just now for game, and I can see what you are saying. I'm hoping this will help me with Shark pattern, one which I have never done spectacular on.

...I don't flare over anything, but it sure did pull the track closer to my fingers! I may take it back down to box finish, figured it'd be early so I shined it up to factory finish.

I've always wanted to lay something out like that but never have.  I don't see much in the way of longer patterns.  I am on a never ending quest for a weak ball.

Rick how would this type of pattern work on a solid ball rather than a pearl?

I have used this layout before for a few strokers, on Eliminators and Raging infernos.

and also a Q- brunswick has a proshop manual?

is this more than just the promotional binders they give out at trade shows?
