Blazing just gets better and better
« on: January 24, 2006, 12:15:08 AM »
Hey everyone,

Late last season, I picked up a Blazing because they were going dirt cheap on bowlingball.com. When I first got it, I figured it would be a good dry condition ball for me. It sat in the bag with very little use for the first six months. Then I began using it during practice sessions. During that time, I realized that the ball had a lot more potential than I was giving it credit for. With that in mind, I began using it late in the night, when my more aggressive stuff starts reading too early. Recently, however, I've found myself pulling this one out more as a first ball out of the bag on my second-shift mixed league, and even last night during men's league when the lanes seemed to be grabbing earlier than normal. In those last two sets, during which I used the Blazing exclusively, I shot 719 and 733. The ball just seems to crush everything. I can stand around 24, hit 18 or so at the arrows and just watch it arc and smash all night long. If I get it in a little bit, the ball rolls enough to pop the corners out. If I get it a bit wide, it reads the dry boards and roars back to the hole. I don't know, it's just like the more I use this ball the better it gets. Has anyone else seen these results with the Blazing?

Wrong ball nodsleinad. Blazing Inferno is what he was talking about. Yeah I love my blazing inferno as well. I have mine drilled with the pin almost even put a hair lower than the finger grips. When I first got it, it was over under city and I wasnt sure about it. I changed the cover then it was the best thing I had in the bag. I would pull it out and people were in trouble. I shot 279 with it in league last year. Now I use it when the lanes dry up a bit. I have since then polished it up alot and I love it. But I could actually move to the right and pick it up and carry the world with it.

The Blazing is awesome and underrated big time. I've shot very well with mine, and can use it on all kinds of conditions. Great ball, nuff said!

Guys.  The Blazing is a great ball.  The problem was that there were actually three different ones.  One batch was made to fit, another batch hooked a ton, and still another batch went very straight.  That is the reason they were discontinued so quickly.  That came directly from a someone at Brunswick.  Shoot, I can't remember the name.  Anyway, I was at a trade show and we discussed that as the problem with the ball.  Now, with that said, I did like the one that I had.  Some great scores with it.

I have seen a BI, and i was wondering how it compares to the OI.
I have an OI, and was just wondering. . .

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

With my Blazing and Smokin', I have the best two ball combo ever created by Brunswick. I start out with the Smokin' then switch to Blazing as the outside dries a little and the middle is still a little too slick for the Smokin'. Then I move deeper and switch back to the Smokin'. Then back to Blazing and so on and so forth. The Blazing is so great. It is a medium oil ball for me and is a little stronger than I predicted but still one of the best balls I own.

Can still pick them up NIB over here in oz(i think the Intense is the only one that has run out, hell the Fuze igniter is the only one of those not available here !!) Kind of weighing up this against Punisher for a medium light piece, besides the $100 in retail(at a guess) how different are they? Worth the extra $ or stick to BVP(seen Brenton Davy still rolling one of these a few months ago, looked pretty good so i dont think we got the 'straight' batch!!)

Oh well, the OI is out of stock in ozzieland now, still Blazings up for grabs and i've got me one!! 2-3" pin 2 1/2oz top, sounds like a good candidate for my fav. 4x2 or 5x3 layout. The bag is now full for the rest of this yr!

My Blazing is getting more play recently, since I tweaked the cover.  Great ball to cover medium to light oil.  Used it in a 9 pin tourney, Hit the 1/2 pocket every shot, Left the bucket in 6th frame of 1st game and an 8 count in 12th of second. Went 276, 298, 300 11 naturals in the last game.  Tapped a 10 in the ninth, cost me beer frame.
