The UI is hands down my favorite ball in the last many years. Interesting issue is that it's great with some polish, but straight as an arrow when dull. Sure, it's probably burning early, but I can go anywhere, try anything including straight down middle where there's still oil, and it's dead nuts straight.
I'm wondering whether to dull it down for Nationals figuring on even heavier oil, or keep it polished, where it's been beauteous on THS.... Would hate to dull the UI and take it out of commission, unless they'll agree to stop the squad while I give it to my wife and have her go get it polished
Interesting gamble. Seriously, what say ye nation?
Thoughts?

I bowled last weekend, and the lefties that were around me had nothing. Looked like 10 out was slicker than snot.
I didn't see any lefty try to get waaayyyy left and go up the crack, we could get it off 1-2 on the right side if you got it out there quick enough.
I would go with it shiny how you like it, especially if you like playing deep. I don't know if you are allowed to scotch brite during practice or not, we are allowed to in PBA. If so, you can know some shine off, you get 10 minutes of practice during team event.
Hope this helps ya....

ok sorry for the slam...left side..play dead up 6/7..or..play 20 to 12..whatever fits your style best..you can ave 200/220 there if good enough. MUst make spares..would use plastic for that...good luck!

No problem Sammy, I expected idiotic kiddie comments. You assume I can afford another one, first off....
The topic is the probability of the UI in dull shape vs polished.... Focus.....

Your profile says you also have a Nemesis sanded to 800 grit...if you are taking that with you I see no reason to dull your Ultimate. If anything, maybe dull the Nemesis down a little more and that should let you get a similar reaction that you would have got with your dull UI.

Jeff has a good idea. Dull the nemesis to like 600 and just keep the UI polished.

It really depends on what area of the lane you want to play. If you want to play the lip you will need surface, but if you want to play in you need a little shine. Depending on what squad you bowl doubles and singles, you may only need your UI for team. If you need any surface adjustments just come to the Brunswick Booth.
