Orig Inferno VS Rattler VS Python
« on: August 24, 2009, 01:15:33 AM »
1st I'de like to say, JUST MAKE ANOTHER ORIG INFERNO...

Both the rattler and python look very tame, my OI is strong, even till this day.  It has well over 500 games on it and it outhooks most of my bag.

I got to throw the rattler on a burnt 36ft sport shot, and it just seemed to wobble, not that strong OI roll.  It has to do with the core?

anyone out there throw/have all three and can review them VS each other?

I never had the Inferno, but both my Rattler and Python are quite strong.

Both are laid out differently so it's hard to accurately compare them. The Python seems to read friction a bit more quickly, but that could also be because my Rattler is drilled Rico (I love it). Sorry I can't give you what you apparently want to hear.

Get the Swarm.  I love mine, it is a little stronger off the spot than the OI but is a VERY versatile piece for me, with no loss of hook over the past year.  Great ball.

I wanted to know what's up.  I know the rattler is much weaker, but it rolls continuous which is good.  I'm not going to go out and blow all kinds of mulah on a Python if it's weaker (i have that covered in my bag already) if I can't get the reaction i want.  I just want something similar to my old OI.

IMO the closest I could see in the current line up is the wild thing.

similar strength in oil (tad weaker) and both had what brunswick called (ultra low rg cores)

Drew,

If my memory serves me correctly the Inferno was re-released about a year ago, maybe longer. You might get lucky and find another one.

Regarding the Rattler "wobbling" on the lane, this is the first I've heard of that unless the condition was too slick (for a pearl) to begin with, or maybe there was some carry-down. Was the layout one that you've used before?

For most of us the Rattler was surprisingly strong, so I wonder if any of the above applied that day... Good luck in finding another Inferno.

I would have to agree mine was suprisingly strong it was my bench mark ball last season. I did nock the shine of with a well worn scotch bright. I would never call this ball weak, its very comparable to the OI in my opinion. If you were trying to duplicate an OI I would go a 1/2 in closer to pap with the pin than the OI you had an it should be close.

It was at least two years ago...I picked one up and drilled it, and it was *significantly* pushier and more angular than the original release was.  In fact, I noticed this with the later Musky Infernos as well  they didn't seem to want to read the mids nearly as much as the 2003 Infernos did.

I do still have a NIB 2003 Inferno in the closet, but it would take a lot to entice me to drill it for a side-by-side.
