target zone moving..help?
« on: January 26, 2006, 10:41:23 AM »
hi,

im bowling for my team and at the home lanes it is verry dry. If you every heard of the place, its called Plaza Lanes (Madison, NJ) These lanes have a BAD reputation for having dry spots/giving alot of awkward splits. From what my friend quotes the lanes, "you throw a good shot, you get 8 and 9s..and if you shoot a bad shot you'll get a strike somehow" Also, the other coaches have been saying if you hit the one board it will move. Getting through the background of the house, I got my target zone from a league I bowled in last year. The target zone i must admit was a very good ball at first until after awhile it got dull and the 7 pin percentage went down (im a lefty). I'm not sure if it needs polishing or what, the target zone has a bite to it at the end. If i tried to let it out a bit more, it would either skid off or at the last second move. Any advice would help, I'm leaning towards polishing it but I'm worried about it skidding too much after.

Thanks,

-andrew

Ah thanks for the advice, your right the Target Zone with the combo of being tracked/dry since today when I was just fooling around in practice I was throwing it outside in and i was hitting the pocket. I think what was getting to me before was even though I could possibly use it as a strike ball in emergencies, the most important thing I needed was the straightness for the 7 pin. Maybe since it was too dull, I was most probably not giving it enough room since when I gave it some it would have a bite (sometimes it would tight robe but then still have enough bite to move away from it).

thanks alot for the help guys,
-andrew

Do you have a luster king in your center? If so put it in that and shine the pizz out of it, then polish it. That should give you max shine.

question for cable-tes...

any other bowling centre(s) in your area?  do you have any other balls?  just curious...because say for example you end up in another house that has really good oiled lanes.  then what do you do?

Arsenal: UI / AI / OI (2) / target zone and soon to be added:  Scorchin and maybe Strike Zone.

Yea, Carolier, Garden state, East Hanover, and Eagle Rock Lanes. Assuming you didnt see my profile, I have a couple balls i could use for oil. I have an Columbia 300 Action, an X-factor (got it from my bro), Hammer Blade Particle (emergency, retired it), or the Big Time. My alter ego is for medium while I use my zone classic for dryer lanes. Of course, I haven't been able to use any of the oil balls at Madison since they would fly all over the lane.
