Polishing Total Inferno

After giving my total inferno to the pro shop to get the ball polished due to that I wanted the ball to become more versatile.  The pro shop owner said that polishing the ball would help correct this.  After using the Track Magic Shine on the ball, the balls seemed to have weakened. I'm not sure if it can it change the ball that much just wondering if it could be the product. Is there any way to bring it back to its dull out of box condition.  I have a bottle of the Rough Buff Polish if that helps at all. Just a little confused.

Exactly.  Polishing the ball will change the performance enough to make the ball usually "less" versatile in my opinion. If you intended on increasing the length of the ball and make it more usable on lesser oil, then you did the right thing. But if you wanted to make it more readable on oil you probably went the wrong direction.

I would recommend starting off by taking the ball back down with a burgundy Scotch Brite pad or a 500 Abralon pad, then hitting it with the Rough Buff polish. See what that does, then keep adjusting the grit combined with reapplying the Rough Buff until you get want you want.

Surface is the biggest key to matching every ball up to your game for the reaction you're looking for.

My true intention was to increase the length of the ball on shorter oil.  I will try the grey scotch pad and use the rough buff polish.

Just got the scotch brite pad, what are the instructions for bringing it back with the pad?

The green pad is the 600 grit in which case, I would smooth out the surface of the total with that pad and then apply to rough buff finish.  The length is very important to me.  If by any chance that I do this whole process wrong, would it affect the ball's performance or life?
