Quantum Elite Limited Edition
« on: August 21, 2005, 01:07:07 PM »
i bought one of these online for cheap.
any of you guys throw this?
what is the coverstock/core?

core stats look exactly like the original inferno
with the .050 diff and 2.6 RG

i have no idea what the coverstock is.
obviously weaker than the inferno.

what drilling suggestions would you have?

here is the ball characteristics chart
http://images.marketworks.com/hi/56/55791/hook_scale.jpg

here is the ball image
http://images.marketworks.com/hi/56/55791/quantum_elite_1.jpg

http://images.marketworks.com/hi/56/55791/quantum_elite_2.jpg

looks like a dry lane ball to me.
i could be wrong though.

thanks!

i dunno about the monster bruiser core Dr. Rev
    the RG/DIFF numbers dont match.

interesting info with the yellow dot coverstock.
ive looked at the bowlingballreviews page, seems very grey in regards to details.

    any more info?
    drilling suggestions?

sounds like a great sport shot ball to me.
since its a weak ball, should it be drilled aggressive?

i couldnt go wrong with buying this ball... its a quantum!

i got it for $38.55 shipped.

    i requested 3" pin 2.7-3.2 top

    is the coverstock reactive resin?

the characteristics chart says 135 length, 80 hook potential.
thats certainly stronger than urethane or the softest plastics.

So basically we can think of this as the Brunswick XXXL.  Nice.  I'm tempted to get one...

there are a couple on ebay now, 16# only.
expect to pay around $40-$45 shipped.

    alot cheaper than the XXXL.

i dunno if you've dealt with Keith Spear and bowlingball.com
but he's a great guy and matches your spec request the best he can.
usually gets to me 5 days after payment.

This ball is not plastic. It has a reactive cover. I believe it is the n'control coverstock or something similar. The core is very similar to the Inferno core. The ball has natural length and definitely needs dry to turn. It is a ball for drier conditions or bowlers with slow speeds. It is reactive and is to strong for toast. I tried one and liked it. My 11 year old son uses one as his primary ball. It works great for him on fresh due to his 10 mph ball speed. Think monster slay/r or blazing inferno in terms of hook.

    TRUE DAT YO!!!

And Louie, I was contemplating getting one of these last year at a pro shop down south, and while talking to the driller there, he stated that it was a plastic coverstock with a weightblock similar to the original Inferno. Just going off what he said. It's a sharp ball, but I wasn't paying $129 bucks for a plastic that really wouldn't be diff. from my Shamrock 99% of the time!

I have this ball drilled label leverage and its not weak, I consider it a medium ball.  It hooks about 2-3 boards less on the backend  than my monster bruiser with the same cover prep and the same drilling.  Not a plastic ball for sure!  Used this ball for 3 weeks on pba pattern E And its to much ball.

From The Desk Of Tom Tomaras:

    Hi Tom,

where would you put the BTV Quantum Elite LE Ball on the ball
    comparison chart?

it sounds like it has an Original Inferno Core with a weaker Coverstock?

do you have any other information on this ball?

    thanks for all the help!

IIRC, the original Rhino Pro Teal used this cover.

with a LOW RG Inferno Core and a WEAK Powerkoil 14 cover...

what kind of reaction would you expect on a THS?

i bet this thing will retain A TON of energy for the pocket.

sounds like a_ak57 was right, its brunswick's dry/spare ball tank!
