Radical concerns/woes...initial impressions
« on: August 28, 2006, 03:10:20 PM »
Lefty
STROKER/tweener

Radical Inferno
Drilled Pin left of ring, CG stacked under, small X-Hole.

Lanes were THS, fresh for the most part.

In all honesty, this ball had the exact same reaction as my Equation, and thats both good and bad.  Good in a sense that I love the reaction my Equation gives me, Bad in a sense that I don't want the ball to react that way.  Same mid-lane read, same length, same reaction on the back end, sometimes less backend then my Equation.

This ball didn't give me the amazing backend that people were raving about.  The only way I could get it to cover any boards was to play down and in over the 10 board.

I was reading the spec sheet and this ball is 400 grit under the polish.  So the ball may in fact have been burning up on me.  I know this ball is supposed to take cover adjustments very well, so what do you guys recommend?  Whats been working well?  When I used my Agent which was 600 grit under 1500 grit polish, I had to bring that up to 1000 grit abralon plus the polish to make it move.  Should I try the same thing?

I have not had good success with the Radical as well. I tried it first OOB and I didn't like the look. I took off the polish down to 800 grit and it still got down the lane OK and hooked a little more but it definitely was not a swing ball. I'd say it would be an OK ball but the Vapor and the Red Zone are far better matchups and the Radical lost it's place in my arsenel. the good news is I sold it in one hour since it's still a hot wanted ball.

Well, I decided I didn't want to deal with it and sold it to my friend to cover the cost of drilling.  He was unsure if he was going to join the winter season and without him I wouldnt have a team.  So I convinced him that I'd sell him the Rad for cheap for garuntee that he'd bowl with us next season.

Time to drill up a Pain.
