Title: Raging Inferno for floods?
Post by: Gene J Kanak on September 16, 2005, 02:23:06 AM
I'm in the process of trying to trade for a true flood ball, and someone has offered me a Raging Inferno. I've seen some people thrown them, but never on truly heavy soup. In fact, the one that I saw that looked most impressive was being thrown on a medium-heavy house shot. Is the Raging truly capable of handling the heaviest of the heavy, or should I look elsewhere? Any help you all can give will be appreciated.

Definitely not.  It is afterall a particle pearl I don't think any particle pearl truly handles floods.  The raging was a nice all it has a very good backend but only on med/heavy would it be best suited.

Nevermind the raging being a particle pearl, it's a higher RG ball anyways.  2.56 or something like that.  Goliath or warp zone would be better choices for real floods.

Oil from the lane, use a degreasing cleanser and prep the cover.

Thanks to those of you who provided intelligent and helpful responses. I figured that the Raging wouldn't be for floods, but I figured I'd check to see what your experiences have been. In any case, I'm picking up a GP2.

And to Sammy, no, I have not posted anything about the Raging before. You might want to know what the hell you're talking about before you open your mouth to call somebody out.

Gene...Good idea in picking up the GP2 for the Heavy stuff. I have both the GP2 and the Raging, and I can tell you that they really don't compare on Heavy stuff. The GP2 goes far and beyond the Raging in heavy oil. The Raging is however a nice step down from the GP2.

TJ,

Yeah, I've heard great things about the GP2. I have a Total Shock & Awe as one step down and a lightly polished Real Deal (which seems to react very much like the lightly polished Raging a guy in my league throws) just below that. I think I might finally have my bases covered.....until I sell or trade something off again. lol I have a disease when it comes to buying/selling bowling balls. I just want to try every one of them!
