Title: Rattler & Wild Ride videos are up and running
Post by: 230-n-up-or-bust on January 13, 2009, 05:08:26 AM
The Rattler (http://"http://www.brunswickbowling.com/media/rattler.wmv") looks like a THS dream.

As good as or better than an OI?  Time will tell.

Will 18 months of R&D make the Wild Ride (http://"http://www.brunswickbowling.com/media/wild_ride.wmv") Big B's next big thing?

They both look pretty nice.

Anyone know what layout(s) Billy O. used in these video(s)?

cheers

I doubt any company would post any video about their product that doesn't make it look good, we will see how it performs out in the real world.

Also that Video did not sell any Swarms for sure....

According to the PBA approved equipment page there is also a Wild Ride TE, I've heard it has the Avalanche core.

I wish Billy O. or whoever is producing his videos would also use the above shoulder angle when he's rolling.

wild ride.... wow... i like the versatility... i may have to add a Big B piece to my arsenal after all. Its just too much stuff out there right now, new balls are coming out all over the place!

I don't mean this as a knock on Brunswick, but a good bowler with a piece like that on a House Shot can basically do that with any ball, it is just impressive to watch it put together in one video like that. I have no doubt that the Wild Ride will be a good ball but just because he adjusted his release and speed to manipulate ball reaction doesn't mean its more or less versatile than any other ball out there.

Who said it was "more or less versatile than any other ball out there?"

I took it as implied by the post above me...

The layouts used for the videos were WR 45 x5"x 70 and the Rattler 5" label pin below fingers. On the Rattler video I threw the Swarm from same line up as the Rattler to show the difference between the 2 balls. With a 2/1 move outside I could strike with the Swarm but it didn't show the arc differences we wanted.
Easy10pins - Thank you for comment on shooting an over the shoulder angle. We will take that into consideration for our Bowl Expo releases.
Any other ideas out there?
Remember we only have less than 3 minutes to show everything without making the file to big to download.

Thanks,

Billy O

Mr. Orlikowski,

Would really appreciate it if the way the ball was laid out could be included in the video.

I am not trying to answer the question for Billy O. but I believe in the Fury Pearl or Twisted Fury Pearl vid he said that all balls are drilled 5" pin to pap and at 45*

Of course with exception to the TFP which needs to be drilled 1/2" closer to PAP because of the lower diff. lol

Yes, show how good these balls are by having a "mortal" bowler throwing them, like me!  Scratch that idea.  It takes longer than 3 minutes for me to strike...

It does exist. Saw PBIII with one this week. Not sure of the core though.

Billy O,

Love your work, thank you.

Just one comment, the Fury (original) video is probably one of the best - different camera angle, layouts etc. Though I understand it could be time-consuming to make.

Keep up with the good work!

As mentioned the ball layout would be nice and possibly demonstate the ball with 2 different layouts. 5" pin and maybe a 3 3/8" just for comparison.

Billy O,

I was really surprised to see how angular the Rattler LOW RG ball is!
I am not used to seeing low RG balls with so much attack angle!

I wish there was a video of the Wild Ride versus the Rattler!

I was VERY impressed with how the Wild Ride could strike from all those angles..

IS that because of the house shot, or because of the ball, or because you intuitively change your release a tad?
Will that be possible on tougher patterns?

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS Billy O....the Human throwbot.....I love to watch!
