Rampage vs Smokin Inferno
« on: January 26, 2006, 04:15:37 AM »
What is the huge signifacnt difference betwen these two balls?

Would these two over lap one another?

I had one friend tell me it is a good med to dry ball that
would be a perfect Benchmark ball.

On the other hand my other buddy tells me thse two overlap one another.

Just trying to find that will fit in my arsenal.

Current: SZ, VZ, AI, SI, Spare

Give me your imput Brunswick Nation.

I concur with your other buddy.

My Smokin' and Rampage were drilled identically (2E) and were left in box condition.  On every lane condition where I threw both balls, there was never more a board of difference in total hook.  However, the Rampage was always a few feet longer, and somewhat sharper at the break, and thus seemed to work better for me when I had to go more away from the pocket.

Hope this helps.

I have a smokin...teammate has a Rampage. Balls are drilled differently, and it makes a big difference. His rampage handles considerably less oil. From throwing both balls, you will see a similar reaction, long and strong on the back, but if drilled differently than your SI, it could fit nicely between your spare and SI.

A good friend of mine has both and he would no doubt agree with Bracket Creep.  His SI is definitely earlier than the Rampage by far.  They are not drilled identically, with the pin above the finger on the SI and then pin just to the right of the ring finger on his Rampage.  Both cgs are in the same place, one inch right on center of span line.

Thanks for the responses guys.

So both balls have the same reaction but roll differently in front.

Cool. He eh.

Any of you think a Classic Zone can be just as strong as the Vapor?
