Don’t know where you live but you could consider taking a field trip to Fairfield, Connecticut, Nutmeg Lanes where Buddies Pro Shop is. Even if just once, if I were getting all my stuff from Buddies, which I do, it would be worth a lot to me to meet Chris, Tim, Matt, Chad, have them see my game etc. For me, it was my home house for seven years, so I was very fortunate

Hard to really suggest much... The Kingpin Rule is a very strong ball. What surface do you have it at? Do you have anything other than the Rule and Copperhead?

There are 3 different USBC White patterns. They are a little more challenging than your normal funnel to the pocket house shot and each of the 3 play slightly different

My understanding of the 3 different white patterns is they are intended for different lane surfaces in an attempt to have a similar shot across those 3 surfaces.  Hopefully your center knows the difference.  It probably doesn't matter too much as one should be playing the shot as it is and not of a piece of paper.

If you add a little surface to the Kingpin Rule it should blend the pattern better front to back.

As we use these balls they "smooth out" the microscopic "treads" put there by the factory and thus start going longer before making their move.  A ball finished at 2000 can easily be at 4000 within about 6 games of use.

Regarding the Copperhead, that ball's strength is that it's designed to be predictable, so I'd take it somewhere between 1000 and 1500 grit and save it for when the lanes get really ugly.

A ball like that can save your life on tough conditions because you know where it's going.  If you stay out of trouble and convert spares well you can surprise a lot of bowlers whose bag is full of skid-snap equipment (because it looks cool on the lanes)and win points.  Good luck.  Let us know how you're doing as the season moves along.
