Black fury
« on: July 27, 2007, 12:04:00 AM »
I have just seen a Fury in the pro shop and it was black, all the promotional pictures I have seen they are dark blue with red bits.

would this be a blem or is it the norm.

Cheers in anticipation

Some solid Furys are really dark - c player around here also has one that appears to be solid black from some distance, and coming closer it appears like a very dark purple - you can hardly tell that this was supposed to be a multi-clored ball at all! In fact, I was only able to identify it5 after I have seen the Fury logo, I thought it were a Time Zone.

It was the same black as a SD73 classic on the shelf, if there were no lables you could not tell the differance.

I know that mine looked black, but once I took it outside, it was dark blue with a little red in it.

I know after years of working with paint that light has alot to do with color. It can make colors look a littl different until you get them out in the sun light.

Ain't the SD-73 dark purple, too? I haven't seen one, yet, but on the pictures the ball looks pretty dark (= black), too?

I was actually in there getting a MTX drilled which is supposed to be purple, but is jet black with a few flicks of silver in it. When it was being drilled the drillings were light purple.

I would think not. Sometimes colors just come out darker then you think they would. Hard to control what the colors will do.

My scores went way up, but you still can't see the colors unless you are outside in the sunlight.

In bright light the colors become obvious.

I have a Roto-Grip SD-73 Classic, and yes, it is dark purple.  OOB, it looks black, but in the light it's really dark purple.  I sanded mine with a maroon scotchbrite pad and polished it with Bean's Secret Sauce and now it looks like a really shiny purple instead of black.
